Why wont Bobby learn english?

I should clarify, then. Barring the interview AFTER the game(which I did NOT hear), in the last couple of interviews that I heard, he had not used an interpreter that I noticed.

Satisfied??

He used an interpreter post Sunderland. He still uses the interpreter at all his press conferences.

Seems it's not such a "dumb assed" thread after all, since your main point has been completely invalidated.

We're top of the table, holders of the FA Cup, semis of the league cup, Mancini is perfectly understandable to me whenever he is interviewed, and he has the added ability to use language as a means of avoiding questions he doesn't want to answer.

Not sure what the problem is.

What a stupid argument!! Whatever happened I have not seen as I have stated by using "I" to clarify. "I" means me as in "Bigga" since "I" am clarifying what "I" have witnessed. "You" haven't seen what "I" have then!!

*shakes head*

I think it's pretty cool the way he can deflect tough questions by half pretending he dosen't know the lingo. Mancini knows full well when to sort of play dumb. The guy is a class act. Love ya Bobby.

Exactly.

I would imagine there are journalists in Italy he knows and trusts. That is why he is happy to speak to them at length, knowing his words will not be twisted for reasons of cheap sensationalism.
After the spiteful, nonsensical way most treated him since he arrived, I doubt he trusts a single English journalist. And he is right not to. Would you in the circumstances?

Can't argue with any of that.

I guess I've lost count of the number of times Mancini has been asked a question in a press conference, or post match, and has completely misunderstood the question and answered something else.

Still, as I said earlier, it's not a big deal, it's not even a deal. But in much the same way I wish Silva could finish better, I wish Mancini's English was a bit better... :)

If he wins the league this year I expect him to spend an afternoon with Martin Samuel giving us an in depth glimpse into his mindset.

This is known as "dodging the question", and every single person in the media, from managers to celebrities to politicians do it.

There's nothing more patronising and pompous than people who feel the need to put posts they are quoting in HUGE letters, or in BRIGHT RED font, as if they are speaking to four year old children.

Other than that, well done for stating the obvious.

If it was so obvious can we presume that you were being more than a little mischievous in suggesting that Mancini didn't understand the questions?

Ah yes, me stupid "dumb ass". You clever man.

I reckon that if he did speak English we would be top of the league. Oh wait.

He can speak English but has some difficulty to understand some people so uses a middle man to make sure he understands fully. tbf i cant understand alot of people in this country, never mind someone who isn't English.
