Wife in Hospital

And loads of them smoke.

A bus I used to get to work stopped at Wythenshawe hospital, and every time without fail there’d be a tribe of hospital staff outside near the bus stop having a cig.

I’ve been in and out of hospital a lot over the last year (despite being out of hospital I’ve still not officially been discharged) and every time I’ve been, there were loads of staff outside smoking.

There are ‘THIS IS A NO SMOKING SITE’ signs dotted about all over the place n’all… that’s a fucking lie!

Not really surprising is that people of all professions have bad habits. If you smoke, you may away with get extra breaks despite the fact there aren't officially sanctioned smoke breaks.

I used to work in public health and there were colleagues smoked or had problems with drink.

GPs working long hours can have bad eating habits, and eat junk whilst sitting at a desk all day.

Met a therapist once who worked from and had the same thing delivered from Subway everyday, and seemed in denial about how unhealthy that was and the need for to adopt better eating habits and prepare her own food at least some of the time.

I can relate to that. I have times of year where I work 13 hours a day and don’t get time for a proper break, and my eating habits are terrible during those times.

The front line staff are great, paramedics and surgeons are life savers, nurses on the wards are mostly angels.
Doctors, receptionists, admin, and the rest of them who sit at a desk in front of a computer are mostly ignorant and can't be arsed, they can all get in the sea.
Yes it's underfunded but that's no excuse for the incompetence of some.

Say the ultimate goal is to privatise the NHS because, as a Government, it costs you too much to run. I’d say a good strategy would be to deliberately underfund it so people complain that it’s not fit for purpose. Throw in employment law legislation changes via policy like brexit. Restricting immigration kills labour supply for low paid jobs. Your job is nearly done. What did happen to the extra £350m a week extra for the NHS by the way?

I'm the first to respond so I will say sorry.
Then I will say the NHS are fucking useless. A waste of time.
Anyone want an argument? Try me cos I'm sick of the fuckers
Go on then. I'll bite.

As you know I have terminal cancer. Got told I had 6 months tops to live in November. Still here. Still fighting. Most of this is because of the fantastic people in Leicester hospital. I had an appointment on Wednesday at 2.30pm for another immunotherapy session. Got seen at 7 due to a system malfunction. Did the nurses all bugger off? No. They stayed to work through the chemo patients. I was 2nd last to leave at 9pm. Kept everyone informed, wandered round with offers of sandwiches, crisps, tea etc etc. Couldn't fault them. Without them I'd be dead.

Mason mount and Poundland Haaland I think.

Sorry but just hate the NHS or USA health system arguments as though they are the only options.
They are here. You can tell that by which politicians have invested in what type of healthcare business and which have taken backhanders to allow it to come through.

If we privatise our healthcare, the poorest in society will be worse off.

Therefore it shouldn’t be privatised, just like water, energy, transport and all the other things that benefit society.
