Wife in Hospital

The front line staff are great, paramedics and surgeons are life savers, nurses on the wards are mostly angels.
Doctors, receptionists, admin, and the rest of them who sit at a desk in front of a computer are mostly ignorant and can't be arsed, they can all get in the sea.
Yes it's underfunded but that's no excuse for the incompetence of some.
Really ?

Not really surprising is that people of all professions have bad habits. If you smoke, you may away with get extra breaks despite the fact there aren't officially sanctioned smoke breaks.

I used to work in public health and there were colleagues smoked or had problems with drink.

GPs working long hours can have bad eating habits, and eat junk whilst sitting at a desk all day.

Met a therapist once who worked from and had the same thing delivered from Subway everyday, and seemed in denial about how unhealthy that was and the need for to adopt better eating habits and prepare her own food at least some of the time.
Yeah we are a strange society. I was in a chippy and a guy who was about 25 stone was talking to the girl about his obesity/diabetes issues. It was surreal as she was wondering why he hadn't ordered his usual over the phone and knew him by his first name . He had got a taxi and obviously not walked there. Its really not rocket science or was he just in denial. Its like me going to my local boozer and talking to the landlord about a alcohol problem

I'm the first to respond so I will say sorry.
Then I will say the NHS are fucking useless. A waste of time.
Anyone want an argument? Try me cos I'm sick of the fuckers
Respect working as a first responder must be a rewarding yet harrowing job

My missus had a freak fall last weekend and broke her hip very badly, it took the Ambulance 4 hours to get to our house, once there one particular Nurse treated her very roughly (my wife is a nurse but now works in research) she is going to be in hospital for a few weeks and the care she is getting is very hit and miss, Consultent tells her one thing about how she should start her phisio after and the phisios tell her something else and leave her feeling terrible when they make her get up on a zimmer frame so they can tick a box, it's making me very angry to see her so upset I'm going to end up in trouble telling the pricks what i think about what they are doing, most of the staff just sit in the hub on their mobiles ignoring the buzzer to let you in during visiting you have to wait until someone with a access card wants to go into the ward, it's certainly opened my eyes to the kind of people the NHS employ, if you've got a pulse you will get a job
Youre upset about your wife , and I hope she ends up well she will Im sure.
Shes got a broken hip. No amount of conflicting advice will sort it sooner, its bone, ligaments, muscle etc. Then movement, and recovery. She will find her way through it mate

You said you wanted an argument did you not?

Almost certainly would, yes. I've never voted Tory and never will. Don't vote against your own interests and be surprised if that's what you get.

Sorry to hear about your struggles and hope you get a resolution.
You are definitely going to need some counselling if Labour win the next Election and you find very little changes.
I would say you have been brainwashed but you need one in the first place for someone to wash it.

You can't generalise, many NHS staff are wonderful, as I found out this week.

The trouble is they are overstretched.

I was in Blackburn hospital last week and there were 47 people waiting to be seen in the fracture clinic, some had been there six hours, and in A&E 18 trollies in the corridor with patients on because there were no beds, the poor nurses were scurrying about like workers an Maccy D's, this was just before midnight.

Best wishes to Mrs frothy.

btw The NHS saved my life, Mrs CBJ's life and my son's leg after he had a bad motorbike accident, all in the last ten years.

If I'd have been in the USA we'd have been bankrupt.
I agree with you they are usually brilliant, but things are definitely going down hill staff wise, over weight especially the English ones to busy telling you they are off to Benidorm for a couple of weeks, couldn't fault the two Polish Assistants both really caring and professional

Sorry for your predicament Frothry and I hope your Mrs makes a speedy recovery. If anyone has experienced NHS treatment recently they will know exactly what you are going on about. It’s not always about money and resources, on many occasions it’s about staff attitude.
