Wife in Hospital

My missus had a freak fall last weekend and broke her hip very badly, it took the Ambulance 4 hours to get to our house, once there one particular Nurse treated her very roughly (my wife is a nurse but now works in research) she is going to be in hospital for a few weeks and the care she is getting is very hit and miss, Consultent tells her one thing about how she should start her phisio after and the phisios tell her something else and leave her feeling terrible when they make her get up on a zimmer frame so they can tick a box, it's making me very angry to see her so upset I'm going to end up in trouble telling the pricks what i think about what they are doing, most of the staff just sit in the hub on their mobiles ignoring the buzzer to let you in during visiting you have to wait until someone with a access card wants to go into the ward, it's certainly opened my eyes to the kind of people the NHS employ, if you've got a pulse you will get a job
Sorry to hear that. It’s awful at the minute, particularly when you have an emergency. My mum was in hospital 3 times last year before she died and I can’t even begin to describe some of the things I witnessed. The dreadful waiting time she had for an ambulance and then in a corridor to even be seen properly were just the start of it.

Hope she recovers soon.

The NHS is a national disgrace. I don't particularly blame the staff, the system is just broken. Not enough of them and vastly underpaid and overworked. They've been stretched for years and this island of 80million or so just keeps growing.

A massive overhaul is required. If we had to pay a tenner for a GP appointment or a scan it would be a faster service, and you wouldn't have all the layabouts abusing the GP and A&E systems. Cough up or die in the street is how it works in most of the world. We just dish stuff out for free to the dregs of society, while staff and decent civilians have to suffer.

Hope your Mrs is okay, I wish you all the best on her road to recovery. The best thing you can do is get her home and be her support system to enable her recovery. I was told by a lovely NHS physio in 2014 that I'd never run again, what a great thing to say to a 21 year old lad who'd just had a career ending injury and surgery. It took me several years to get over mental barriers and some serious bouts of depression and weight gain but I've participated in several events over ultra marathon distance since. It can be done. You'll meet some vile people in the NHS, and also some very caring people, such is life.

Our population is around 68 million, unless you think our assylum list is 12 million or so.
