Wife in Hospital

Go on then. I'll bite.

As you know I have terminal cancer. Got told I had 6 months tops to live in November. Still here. Still fighting. Most of this is because of the fantastic people in Leicester hospital. I had an appointment on Wednesday at 2.30pm for another immunotherapy session. Got seen at 7 due to a system malfunction. Did the nurses all bugger off? No. They stayed to work through the chemo patients. I was 2nd last to leave at 9pm. Kept everyone informed, wandered round with offers of sandwiches, crisps, tea etc etc. Couldn't fault them. Without them I'd be dead.
The Cancer parts are superb been though it twice with Mrs Moon, can't do enough at all levels of the process.

Other parts and I've got to say most of the NHS aren't fit for purpose, seems to be every part I come into contact with for ailments of mine and becomes boxes being ticked, time wasting and overall shite & I've not even touched the non-jobbers but sadly they're in every profession.

Im going in doing an 8 hour shift today, fucking dreading it with the heat, same tomorrow .

I could.call in sick and use the excuse about 5 of my co workers have used the last two weeks,ie,i have the shits, but i wont ,more fool me.

One women i work with didnt come in last monday when it was a bank holiday, she then had the whole week off, what have management done about her ? (she has been off 3 times now in the last 6 weeks ) ,they have given her overtime today and tomorrow, rewarding her for letting us all.down.

Im sick of it all, Im saving like fuck just so i can hopefully retire in 4 years.

I’m sad to say but the way it’s going it’s going to collapse in the next 5 years, unless they open the borders up to get more staff and sort out management it’s all coming to a head. Factor in a lot of hospitals been condemned from this concrete scandal and it will not be fit for purpose. The cunts have run it into the ground and won, it will be privatised tbh most is through the back door these days, diabetes is increasing within society and putting a huge strain on the nhs and because people take no responsibility for their actions it’s only going to get worse. Present a fat **** with a bill for diabetes and see how fast they start to lose weight, yes I know you can have it hereditary But a lot isn’t and they lots of stuff stems from diabetes. Don’t get me wrong it’s a great idea and institution but it’s time is nearly up in its old form, sadly.

Having worked in the NHS in my past life, I have to disagree about the issue being the borders.

It's got everything to do with low pay for the stresses. Low pay equals nobody wanting to work in hospitals equals having to find staff from abroad for that low pay equals those staff getting blamed for the low funding of the NHS.

It's entirely disgusting.

In my view (and I've always said it), the national should outweigh any foreign staff for the NHS, but it's not the case. The idea of 'Brexit', for me, was conditional on the State having a new drive for making working in healthcare a noble well paid job, but the Gov, actively, worked against that.

Clowns.

It’s when you hear stories like this from someone on the coal face it’s fucked.
As we get older the thought of having to use it on a regular basis fills me with fear.

If only you knew what goes on with some staff.
my current line manager has not worked for 2 years now, been there roughly 5 years and worked at most 18 months.
he got paid all through covid for sitting at home while pricks like me on low pay turned in.
I understand how my fellow co workers abuse the sickness policy, but some, its unbelievable what they do,and worse, get away with year after year.
