wish we'd play mario as a central striker. never understood the point of putting him on the left

I agree about Mario being better as a striker however tbh the line-up we've put out is VERY attacking - Maicon will bomb on, as will Zabba, with Barry and Garcia covering. Therefore I can see the logic in Bob playing 4-2-3-1 rather than 2 up top.

I think we'll spank these fuckers tonight, 4-1 City.

Maybe tonight it's Mario down the middle with Yaya and Aguero playing just behind and around him and Silva just weaving his magic all over the pitch. If David has a top game we win.

Need to see Balo getting a goal from open play tonight. And Aguero. Two nil with a goal a piece from a well worked attack would suit me perfectly.

Wigan have surprised plenty of the big teams over the seasons so hopefully no poor sloppy start assuming we'll be handed the win.

Not sure whether I'd go Balo up top or Aguero, as both are rubbish from the left :p

Strange to see Tevez out though. These do tend to be the games he's pretty good in. Doesn't give a shit about the place or weather.

I'd hardly call Nasri surplus. He is the best player we have in the possession and passing game, and he has won us a couple of games. I feel like something extracurricular is involved on that one.

Please tell me you're fishing.....

He's been an immense disappointment so far in blue, ffs even I could make a 2 yard pass regularly.

Are you joking? He plays in the attacking third and has one of the highest passing percentages in the league. Silva is a creator. He often turns it over, because he is always looking for a killer pass, which is great, but you need someone to balance that.

Nasri is a facilitator. He goes from wing to wing, into the middle, deep and forward, collecting the ball and moving it along. This allows players like Silva, Tevez, and Aguero more space and time to create and score. You should actually watch him and see how often he manages to keep us flowing on the ball. He generally covers more ground than any other player as well.

He's not a disappointment. You just have no understanding of what he does.

Hahaha.

Never mind a "facilitator", he's shite.

Fuck me Mancinis love for Balotelli are clouding his judgement, what has Mario done lately to deserve a start, sorry I can´t see why he should start ahead of Tevez or Dzeko.

He hasn't played in four games, yet Mancinis love for Balo is clouding his judgement because he starts one match. Unbelievable.
Maybe he's pulled his finger out in training

hope so mate, we could use a consistent striker at this point!

Its a point of principle/perception tactically Jay. You know that. I'm making the obvious point he is anonymous in open play away from home. In other words, it feels as a fan we have one player not putting in it

Speak for yourself. He's played well at West Brom and West Ham the last few away games

He's played well at West Ham? He did nothing other than miss three guilt edge chances. What game were you watching. Jay, this is called blind faith. You are with all the genuine will in the world hoping he will do well.

but being a striker isn't just about scoring goals, right?

I think Nasri is class. Maybe wrong but wasn't he in the top 5 in the assist table in the prem last season? Underrated.

I don't understand your logic at all... he hasn't played much at all...
what love did mancini show??... its time for mancini to play him and its time for him to prove that he is a regular starter for any club in the world....
What has he done to deserve a start? He hasen´t scored any goals lately and he has been injured so I don´t see why he´s ahead of Tevez or Dzeko.

Difference between Carlos and Balo is that Mario will start off the left which allows Yaya to start in his advanced role. The formation wouldn't work with Carlos playing wide.
I am hoping he plays central and Kun goes wide.
