question for our lurkers...........Bony or Falcao????
I will save them the bother, Falcao all day proven, city throw money after money, can't attract world class like Falcao, bony, Aguero, yaya, last years top three goalscorers don't mean shit.

Makes me laugh when I read people saying he isn't good enough. He is a fantastic player with his back to goal and will be an ideal foil for Aguero. It's fair to say Aguero and Dzeko have never struck up a good partnership.

It's almost as if txiki can't win with some people - maybe these were the ones 18 months ago saying we should go balls deep for Soldado and what a success he turned out to be.

So for me £30m (and I doubt it will be that much) will be a fair fee for a proven goal scorer at premier league level.
It's fair to say Begiristain's record in tge market is fair to poor.

Wasted money on Willy who looks worse than Pantilimon. Sagna doesn't look impressive at all. Mangala looks about as intelligent as Boyata. Negredo was amazing so we sell him after a year. Navas hot and cold. Fernandinho good but £34m at 28. Fernando all right.

Look at some of the rubbish he signed at Barcelona as well. Wasted £30m on Chygronschy or whatever that shit centre back was called. Signed loads of nobody's from brazil for like £20million a guy called herreroson or some shit and he never played a single game for them.

If you could stop changing Euros to pounds and completely ignoring the exchange rate, you know like the papers do, that'd be great.

"Wasted money on Willy, who looks worse than Pantilimon":
Pantilimon is playing every week and in a team which allows a lot of chances/shots to the opposition, last season when Willy was at Malaga he was nominated for Goalkeeper of the year alongside Courtois and Keylor Navas (Now the first choice Chelsea and Real Madrid keepers). Also he was probably Pellegrini's transfer.

"Sagna doesn't look impressive at all": No, you're right he doesn't. But then again he was fantastic for Arsenal and was snapped up on a free, and is still a far better right back option than an injured Richards.

"Mangala looks about as intelligent as Boyata": Absolute bullshit. Mangala hating at it's finest. He will become a fantasic centre half, and is already Champions League standard.

"Navas hot and cold": So far he has 7 goals and 17 assists, in and out the team/coming off the bench. He may be inconsistent in form, but he is consistently productive with assists and chance creation. He also works as hard as Milner and get's a fraction of the praise.

"Fernandinho good but £34m at 28": First off, £30m. Secondly, he was a major part in winning the league, in fact we wouldn't have won it without him. 28 means no resale value, but we wouldn't sell him anyway like we wouldn't sell Silva or Sergio.

"Negredo was amazing so we sell him after a year": He was amazing for a year, then we sold him for £10m profit despite him being older, seriously injured, out of form and homesick. That is fucking top business.

"Fernando alright": Bags of experience, £12m, don't think we where expecting Zidane.

"Wasted £30m on Chygronschy or whatever that shit centre back was called": Chygrynskiy cost 24 million EUROS, so about £17m. Too much? yes. Shit, yes. A mistake? Yes. But not £30m, not a massive signing. Similar price to Kolarov, Santa Cruz or Jo.

"Signed loads of nobody's from brazil": 2. 2 nobodies, Keirrison and Henrique. Punts that didn't come off shock fucking horror.

"like £20million a guy called herreroson or some shit and he never played a single game for them": Keirrison, yes. He was 14 million euros. EUROS. That's like £8m, he took a punt on some youngster who they loaned out and it didn't work, happens everywhere (particularly at Chelsea) all the time.

You seem to be failing to mention Ronaldinho, Deco, Eto'o, Zambrotta, Dani Alves, Pique, Yaya Toure, Henry, Thuram etc.

His biggest mistake was Ibra, and the reason that didn't work is down to politics with Messi/Guardiola.

Afuckingmen Sir.

Just for good measure. ;-)

Oh the irony.

Red Café lot astounded we'd sign Bony, let alone pay 30mill for him.(if true?) He's, this, he's that, etc. City can't afford him because of FFP, etc. You get the idea. City agree £30m fee with Swansea for Bony http://www.redcafe.net/threads/city-agr ... ny.399975/

Wait a minute. He's the PL top goal scorer playing in an average Swansea side.(no disrespect to Swansea) Imagine what he's going to be like with Yaya, Silva, Nasri, threading balls through to him, and playing alongside Sergio. Ouch!

Anyway, back to Red Café and the Rags on there.

This from a club who spent £60mill on Di Maria and pay him £280,000 a week. Dia Maria has played 12 games and scored 3 goals in the PL.

This from club who spent £6mill on Falcao, and pay him £265,000 a week. Falcao has played 12 games and scored 3 goals in the PL.

Then there's Ander Herrera at a mere £29mill, who's played 10 times and scored 2 goals.

To all the Rags on here, as well a Red café. F*** off and go and watch your over priced and over paid useless Glalacticos. Ha!

Luke Shaw £27m
Fellaini £28m
Mata £38m

I forget sometimes we bought all of our players like Toure, Silva and Aguero just before the boom. Now it's a much different market with Madrid and Barcelona buying James, Suarez Bale and Neymar for £60m plus.

Guess it just takes time to get used to but I suppose even £30m will be a decent hypothetical price. And I shouldn't have slagged off our signings.

We don't win the league last season without Fernandinho and I don't think that's a bold statement.

Bony can do the same this season, if the club want to spend x amount of money on him then they'll do so.
No doubt about that. Ferna is still one of our very best players and one of the best midfielders in the world as far as I'm concerned. He chipped in £4m of the fee by forfeiting a bonus due, so saying £34m is a bit disingenous as well and only meant to make it look "worse." His fee was £30m. Negredo actively wanted to leave so we sold him -- sometimes you have to do that. We made a nice profit on him and it's helping fund the purchase of Bony. No doubt he's doubled his value after the success he's had at Swansea.

Heard some of the options being mentioned for this window like Torres and Defoe really pleased to be in for Bony. It will give us the ability to get the ball upfield quickly. (No I don't want a 'Big Sam' team) but it would be nice to have that option in games when we are too ponderous, remember the beasts goal against the dippers. With Kuns/Jovos recent injury record it would be good to have four strikers for the remainder of this season and all of next

Falcao for the hype and silly celebrations like scoring a world cup final last minute stunner + his fat wages :)

or

Bony

for me and i hope the next big name star should be a playmaker or a replacement for Toure

Good replacement for Negredo as long as that money is guaranteed in the summer. Don't want to pay for the £30m for Bony and then have Negredo coming back.

Try and cash in on Dzeko or Jovetic in the summer as well.

I don't think we need to sell anyone other than Negredo imo, unless it suits us. you know "The Big Picture" and all that.
