SSN graphic shows Jovetic has a better goals/minute ratio than this 30mil striker...Ha!

Easy to do when you're a sub the whole time, what about goals/games?

Stevan Shades that too. Stevan - 5goals/11games
Bony-9goals/20games

By the time the deal is done, SSN will have tried to convince the world the lad is sunday morning park football standard.

I wonder what their take would be if it was the rags or Chelsea signing him..........?

Tbf,they provided the right stats. Make of them what you may.

9/20 on a team with a mid-table midfield? That's not bad at all. Now imagine Toure, Silva, Nasri, Milner, Navas playing behind him.

Imagine!

One plays for a very creative playing team with world class players and the other leads the line for Swansea.

another thing which is to be noted is that good teams improve players individually aswell and it has happened time and time agaiin ,no disrespect to swans but there no match with city players in terms of caliber ,so bony would only get better with us

I like both players but they are chalk and cheese.

What next, they compare him with Messi?

His goal scoring record in his career to date in very impressive and he will fit in very nicely thank you very much.

This. It's scary how good he could be when playing in this city team. He will be even more prolific than he is now. He will score loads of goals for us I'm sure of it. Shame he can't do a song and retire from international football :-)

I think I'm missing something here, don't Swansea have the guy whose Assists stats are only bettered by Fab???

In the end It does not matter who's fault it was. The outcome is we were fined under FFP, the only Premier League Club to be so fined and we not only suffered the financial consequences of it and the depleted CL squad, but it gave ammunition to our enemies to use it against us, however eroneously, in perpetuity as and when they choose, it is a monstrous bollock.
The only monstrous bollock that's been dropped is us putting up with your moronic trolling.

I think that to improve, players have to be played.........

fair point John!

I hope Jovetic is played more in a Nasri, Silva role now. I think he's fantastic at driving forward.

We should not break FFP restrictions to buy Bony.

Even with the possible sales of Nastasic and Sinclair, if Swansea want a ridiculous £ 30 million we should walk away and not risk more sanctions from Ueafa. If we can get him for £ 20 million and with any sales ensure we stay within our FFP limits, then fine. We do not want to give the snipers more ammunition. We have already made a PR gaffe over the Lampard and NYCFC issue we do not want to create more rods for our own backs. I thought the club now wanted a more positive, calmer, straight forward approach to how they operate. i.e. do thinks in the right way to minimise any bad publicity.

Also if we buy Bony then when he eventually plays for us (mid Feb onwards) and Aguero is fit also, does that mean we will now again play 2 up front in a 4-4-2 when at times i.e. in Europe, a 4-5-1 or 4-2-3-1 seems better ? Also who will be left out of the Champions Laegue squad of 21 to allow Bony a place in that ?

Also as we have Dzeko and Jovetic, how will they fit in to the team\squad? I do not think we need 4 strikers, 3 is sufficient. Yes we have been unlucky that all 3 have been injuredm but normally 3 is sufficient with the option of playing 2 up front and 1 as back up for either, or just playing 1 up front at times and having the other 2 on the bench. If Jovetic is not a striker why did we buy him, we already have Silva, Nasri in particular and also Navas , Milner and Toure who can can all play as high up midfield players supporting a striker.

Surely if we do get Bony one of Jovetic or Dzeko will need to be sold in the summer.

Bony is a good player but we should not be forced to overpay and break FFP rules.

I read somewhere that City want to spread the payments out to get round this issue....wouldn't surprise me if its 20mil now and the rest in down payments during next summer......Not sure how that works against the FFP rules but would make a lot of sense...
Or we could do it the rag way, with a down-payment once we've taken our empties back and the rest of the fee paid over a 50 year period.

City want the fee to be undisclosed, but Swansea want to announce it in terms of placating the fans (expect some wild fluctuations)

We do not want to telegraph our ongoing financial situation for this window, allowing clubs to crunch the numbers when it comes to buying from us.

It's a minor point but one being resolved.

Dunno if it has been said and haven't time to scroll back (at work) but Sky Sports App are running a video clip entitled 'Do City Need Bony?'.
it's 60 seconds of one of their automatons trying to coax a condemnation of the deal from either of two second rate guests (don't recognise either, myself).

The question was obviously editorial policy. The condemnation never came.

They highlight it on their App anyway.

And some wonder why the Agenda thread prospers.

I hate it that our enemies in the media use FFP to pour scorn on what we're doing, but "moronic trolling"? What you mean is I don't love City enough? Or not the way you do?

And you're a moderator?

Jovetic is a better player in a better team. Unfortunately he's unreliable, which is paramount when our other main striker is also injured a lot.

What's the point? Surely the people who need to know the numbers will find out anyway.
