Will Covid change the world

It really depends on how long it takes for countries to be free of it, and how hard it has hit different countries across the world.

The world may be better prepared for when an extinction virus appears as well one might and that is a good thing of course.

There is going to be economic turmoil and dependent on how bad that is, there will be big political turmoil across the globe which will increase instability and may cause conflicts.

As for our society, whilst it has shown some positive things and highlighted that we still have good people around us, it has also sown more division and hatred. I for one will not forget the panic buyers, or those who think that the vital rules we have to adhere to currently are not applicable to them. I do not see myself as any part of their society and as far as I am concerned they are the lowest form of scum alongside nonces and Jihadists.

I am sure some good things will follow this. Better support for our health service, more investment into the sciences. Maybe in some cases it will make international co-operation better.

All in all apart from the sickness and death this virus has brought which I believe to be the tip of the iceberg I believe it will cause havoc in many ways and little good will come from it.

I’ve no appetite. I’m drinking fruit juice a bit at the moment. I’m legitimately unwell too with other things.
Yeah, me too mate. My foot is twice the size it should be. I’m sorry you are feeling crap. I find setting some kind of routine and changing the activity I do every hour or so helps. Reading is a blessing as you can ‘escape’. Stay safe.

What have you done to your foot?

We’ll all be a bit more unhealthy for the next few months or so. I’ve already started piling on the pounds
I’m the opposite.

Being more sedentary at home in semi-lockdown, we don’t need to eat as much food and anywhere near as many carbohydrates as we did before.

Cut out all refined carbs! Cut down to whole grain carbs for one meal a day. You don’t need carbs with every meal.

We eat carbs for energy and some nutrients but we don’t need as much energy when we’re doing less and carbs are stored as fat when they aren’t used up (more so than any other foods, including fats themselves).

Increase good fats to use as energy: eggs, avocados, nuts...

Don’t eat any junk food on 6 of 7 days and have one day where you can give yourself a “treat”.

Don’t drink sugary drinks.

Plus we’ve got more time to prepare and cook healthy meals. Learn new healthy recipes and get a good range of nutrients.

And exercise at home if you have room. For example, you can do a workout on the bottom three steps of your stairs that’ll do lower body, chest shoulders and triceps.

It is a Dickensian malaise connected to drinking too much port. And it rhymes with Grout. And before anyone starts to laugh it is also seriously painful. Makes it a great deal easier to stay indoors though.

A most disconcerting pecuniary affliction of uric acid metabilization and my heartfelt sympathies and well wishes toward your therapeutic recovery. Hippocrates the father of medicine called it the unwalkable disease aligning it to an arthritis of the rich, distinguishing it from rheumatism which only afflicted the poorer wastrels. Easy on the port lad and try a dram of Gin?

Gin is our early evening drink of choice. Port not so much ;-).
Hope you and yours are very well and keeping safe.

Cherries or cherry juice mate! I swear by it for gout.

I’ve broken bones and even dislocated my ankle once and I was in more pain with gout than anything I’ve ever experienced. If someone gave me a choice of a sledge hammer to the knee or a bout of gout, I’d opt for the sledge hammer!

So just in case, I always try and have some cherry juice or some cherries in the flat. If gout ever crops up I drink the juice and the gout subsides.

I can’t see how the tourist and travel industry can recover from this. Even if lockdowns are reduced, who’s going to want to go to say Madrid, Italy or any country effected.

I was looking at Barcelona a few months ago, but there’s not a chance I will go to Spain anytime soon. I think lots will think the same.

Lots more people will look at staying in the uk for holidays I think
