Will injuries cost us?

[QUOTclub eano ou812, post: 9009912, member: 22584"]That's it,until of course the injuries kick in again,on a serious note remember Arsenal a few years back having a bad run of injuries, and at the moment wouldn't be far behind us on the injury front, although our injuries would be more to key players than arsenals ...

The club need to be seriously looking at why these recurrent ones keep happening. It's not all bad luck, something is wrong somewhere in the medical department.[/QUOTE]
Agreed, was mentioned numerous times on other threads the doctor when Mancini was manager we hardly had any injuries under him until he was sacked off,it's baffling some of it could be down to the way we play at times high tempo fast,Arsenal the same...

Think Otamendi, Fernandinho and De Bruyne are the only players who haven't been injured this season ...and we're in November

Numerous players are on their 2nd, 3rd or even 4th injury too.

Can't be coincidence

Nope. Assembling an overrated squad. Inability to replace half-arsed and injured players. Handing out monster contracts to average players, such as Kolarov, Nasri and Dzeko.Showing a complete lack of sense in player recruitment by not addressing Central Midfield.
Your ambition is certainly not winning the CL, if you go out and buy players like Sterling and Bony. As somone else said, considering the amount we have spent, we should have had a galactico team by now.

Spot on. The clappers won't be happy when they read this....

Both Otamendi and DeBruyne missed our fantastic pre-season tour.
We've been managing our team like an international circus for two seasons.
Players NEED at least three weeks in the same place during pre-season to build strenght and stamina.

That's why we get so many injuries, that's why pretty much all team run a lot more than us.

It's unfair to say Nasri and Dzeko were average players. When we signed them they were doing great. Something seems to happen once players get here. We just seem to buy players without reference to the way the manager or the owners want us to play. Then we compound the mistakes by extending contracts.

There's certainly something deeply flawed about our transfer policy and scouting. The money we've wasted is ridiculous. Mangala at 30-40 mill? Why aren't we spotting, signing and developing the 7 mill Stones from Barnsley or wherever it was?

I get we had to sign home grown players and so had to go for Sterling. But that begs the question as to why our back up keeper isn't one of them? Why wasn't Demi replaced by a solid British defender? If we're signing limited DM's then why Fernando and not Shelvey?

Why did Clyne end up at Liverpool for next to nothing? Why not Townsend instead of Navas if we need pacy wingers who cannot cross?

Then maybe we wouldn't need to bend ourselves over a barrel for players like Sterling. Don't get me wrong, I think he's going to be a good player but we were so desperate for an home grown player Liverpool could practically name their price.

Why is it that Southampton can conjure an endless stream of fine young British players while we have nothing yet to show for our Academy?

It should be costing someone their job. It's unacceptable, and happening too often to be bad luck or a coincidence.

Our injury management is piss poor, and it seems we're not preparing our players adequately.
