Will People stop having a pop at Robbie.... Please

Personally I wouldn't criticise any player against Chelsea. Of course we could have played better overall, but I though at least we kept going and each player put in the effort. The other problem was that when you looked at the bench yesterday, it dawned on you how weak our squad is. If Petrov, Johnson, Bellamy, Kompany and De Jong where available then you would have had options to change the side and the team would have been stronger from the start. This is the reason why Hughes has always said he needs 3 or 4 transfer windows. I think he has done pretty well in the first two, let's give him a chance at the next two.

I am hearing more and more people Complaining about Robbie everyday be it and the ground, in the papers, on this website and i just can't seem to understand why.

Whilst i appreciate everyone is entitled to their opinion i would have hoped that we could have given Robbie the support he deserves instead of getting on his back at every opportunity! I was at the UEFA cup game last week and was astonished to hear people Boo Robbie when he gave away possession. Admitantly he didn't have his best game ever in terms of keeping possession but he created bag fulls of chances and helped create the first goal.

I think most people would admit Robbie is the best player City have ever had play at the club and yet a small section of City fans are still not happy. He is arguably one of the best players in the world, a house hold name, and he is getting Boo'd and criticised continually. For god sake he is the premierships 4th top scorer he can't be that bad!

+1 to that. The abuse he is getting from certain sections of the fans is pathetic and only serves to fuel the media's frenzy in their rush to criticise him. We win at home as a team and we lose away as a team. Ireland and SWP were both shocking yesterday and more culpable than Robinho in us failing to score IMO but they don't deserve abuse either.

IMO some 'fans' are very simple-minded and basically cannot handle the fact that not every single player goes charging around the pitch like a headless chicken. It is not Robinho's job to constantly track back and win tackles. He is in the side because he is capable of doing things that no other player in the squad can dream of. He gets enough unwarranted abuse from the tabloid media who have an agenda of wanting to continually criticise him and the club because they can't stand the fact that we are now loaded, it worries me that some of our fans want to support them in this quest.

Very well said!

the guy is an exeptional talent, there is no denying that, BUT..... He isnt putting in the performances we come to expect from a "world class" player or as quoted from this thread " the best player in the world." I dont stand at the game slating him but i will express my opinion on here that he hasnt lived up to expectation at all for me. I hope this season will have been good for him to get used to the english game and i would expect him to come out next season and be the world beater we all know he is capable of. I think the reason he comes in for criticism more than other players is the status/price tag. You would expect more from him than some players with less talent.

If you think Robbie is the best player, ever to have worn a City shirt, you must be about 12.
He would not figure in the top 20 City players of all time

Paul Dickov no doubt.

I genuinely pity the morons who can't see how good Robinho is.

Who was the last City player to score 12 goals between September and December?
