Will People stop having a pop at Robbie.... Please

Robinho is world class. Anyone can see he has that something special. The problem is he is so inconsistent. If we are to challenge the top 4 next year he has got to put it in week in week out. I suppose a few other players could be singled out for critisism, but the other players did not come with the price tag of 32million and the reputation world class.

World Class players are not inconsistent they do it on a regular basis

1st Season with us.

Give him summer and pre season and 1 years experience PLUS better qaulity players on the pitch with him, and im sure the guy will be better.

Alot of times there is simply no movement at all by other players in the final 3rd but as we become stronger and players step up or we get better players in then i belive he will get more time on the ball.

V Chelsea and this isnt meant to be a pop at Evens and the like but if you were Chelsea and had up front Robinho, Caciaedo/Evens and Etuho etc, who would you most concentrate on. Now replace that with Robino/Petrov/Villa (dreaming but stay with me) and you see my point.

i fully support robbie and he is a good player, but he is awful away from home(slightly better in recent weeks) and he can't score easy chances.
there is a reason to have a pop at him, he doesn't try half the time but people have too high expectations.
he isn't in the same line a messi, kaka or aguero

Booing any City player at a game is cretinous, criticising a player on here after a shit performance is a different thing completely.

Im prepared to wait another season before making a judgement. Point taken about consistency though

Its been said on here a million times before...............form is temporary, class is permanent.

The only thing that worries me is that if for any reason we dont get into Europe next season, I reckon he'll be throwing in a transfer request

I'm pretty certain it's only our football club that could bring in a world superstar like Robinho, who is possibly the best player to pull on a City shirt in thirty years, and have a large number of people pining for 'the good old days', when we had Paul Dickov and Shaun Goater up front. It really is bizarre. I know we're a whining, miserable set of ****s, but this really takes the biscuit!

I think the problem with some City fans is that you lot expect too much from one player in his first season in England.

Robinho is not the best player in the world, not even close but he's certainly very gifted and in the right setup with the right tactical approach and quality players around him can perform at the highest level. Problem is, many expect him to step up and make a difference every time things get tough and I'm afraid he is not a leader by nature, more like someone who can make a very good team even better, if used properly.

Plus, he knows he's the most valuable asset in the cub, virtually untouchable and they can't afford to press him too much about his inconsistent performances or off the pitch behavior, those Brazilians are notoriously moody individuals and require a certain approach from the management.

It'll be interesting to see what'll happen with him in the summer if City fail to land any big players. That may prove to be his biggest test yet to see if Robinho is serious about sticking with City or starts angling for move away. Given his past behaviour at Santos and Real he doesn't appear to be a loyal type, but people do change and mature with time so only time will tell.

The fact that it is Robinho's first season, that he is a team that is in transition and that he's not the only one who has performed indiferently away from home are all valid points.

However, I get irriated at the view that we are actually prievalaged to have such a player and there is the worry that he could leave us when his performances don't justify such thoughts.

Robinho has proved to be a good player at home when City are on top but anonymous away from home and often rightly or wrongly giving the appearance of not trying. That is not the sign of a world class player.

Kinkladze was in a very poor premiership team but he showed more skill and spirt that Robinho.

As I say though it is first season and he's not the only thing wrong with the team but next season there has to be a vast improvement.
