Will they fire Mancini?

Does nobody think that continuity is a factor in winning trophies?

Wenger, Ferguson and Liverpool in the 70's, 80's & 90's.

Wenger has been in charge for the last seven trophyless years at Arsenal.

How does that stack up with the "continuity" argument?

In fact, check the record books... Wenger was FAR more successful in his early years and his teams have become less effective as time has gone on...

Ferguson didnt win a major trophy for three years.

I don't get all these excuses about it being Mancini's 2nd season.

Ancelotti and Mourinho won the PL in their 1st season and they were up against a very good United team and Arsenal were alot better then as well.

I don't get all these excuses about Arsenal being such a fantastically run club that has won fuck all for seven years. And probably won't for a while.

Where Chelsea came from and where City are coming from are totally different. All you can ask for a manager is to improve year on year; we went from 5th to 3rd to either 1st or 2nd. The improvement in points is absurdly big as is the overall quality of the team and squad. Yes we have made a few school boy errors the past 2-3 months and some of them have been poor managerial decisions but overall we are flying and look set to be challenging for the big honours for a long time to come. Under Mancini.

It's his third season.

Some City fans are nervous and mistrusting of Mancini. There are also a sizeable number who think he's the Messiah, and a significant chunk who sway according to results.

Some of us believe that winning the title is the be all and end all. If we end the season without it, and having gone out of the other trophies with a bit of a whimper, then Mancini has failed.

There is a proportion of our support who see us as some plucky little Swansea, punching above our weight. The sensibles ones realise that ADUG should expect a major return for their outlay.

You say you don't rate him can you give a reason other than he should be winning the league and seeing as though the season isn't up yet that still might happen.

I've already posted on here than Mancini as won a trophy in each of his full seasons at all clubs managed totaling 3 league titles and 7 cups in 10 years of management, seeing as your manager has won 4 titles and 5 cups in 24 years then is record doesn't look to bad and before you say it I'm not saying he's better than Arsene, but to say you don't rate him then the reason must something that is beyond my thinking.

I think you're confusing patience and stupidity. No-one thinks we are Swansea punching above our weight but we do think that getting 90 points and finishing 2nd to almost record points haul is nothing to be ashamed of or considered a failure.

And some of us see the "project" as being a long-term investment by ADUG and expect success to be evolutionary rather than revolutionary and that consequently progress should be expected to be incremental rather than instantaneous.
