Will we beat Hamburg? Yes or no?

I reckon its going to be two comfortable home wins. Can see us losing 2 or 3 nil over there then same sort of score in our favour at Eastlands.

Would not be surprised if its penalties again (FFS).

A fit Petrov could make all the difference, reckon we will just nick it

Of course we will win we are City , we are unbeatable in this competition ................ reaches for more wine

Thanks for the response.

I'm sure we will pay over the odds for a number of players before we get to where we want to be. Especially when these players play for clubs who do not need the money, of which Hamburg are one.

I'm very interested on your view of Kompany as he has been outstanding for us this season. I seem to remember at the time of his transfer to City, that Hamburg did not want him to play in the Olympics for Belgium whilst Kompany did. I believe he stayed in Beijing which upset Hamburg. Very strange that Hamburg did not want Kompany to play in the Olympics considering he was regarded as being 'Not very good' and 'Not playing much'.

Well the Olympics came at the start of the season and obviously Jol wanted Kompany to stay with the club, help get a good start and all that. As a comprimise, they agreed that he'd play two games in China and then return in time for the start of the BL, something like two or three days. But then when the time came, he threw a tantrum. So you can imagine how well that went down with the board.

About him being "not very good" - he had alot of personal problems and injuries that basically got the better of him. His first season with us only consisted of 6 games because of injury and about a year ago (I think), his mother died. So his head was all over the place and was even sent home to "rest" too. I don't think we ever saw him at his best, which is why most HSV fans weren't THAT sad to see him go. Whether he turns into this quality talent is one thing but based on what we saw, he didn't have the mentality.

Based on what you say though, it seems he's put all that behind him with the fresh new start and has settled in well. Good for him. :-)

Anyway, my predictions: 1-1 at COMS. 2-0 to us in HH. Sorry :-D

I suspected that Hamburg may not have seen the best of him, hence the reason why Hamburg were not upset to see him leave.

Like I say, he has been excellent for us in Midfield this season (I believe he may have played in defence for Hamburg) and is even playing with injectsions in his foot every week for a toe problem.

Unfortunately, I can't disagree with your prediaction. However, I think we'll loose a penalty shoot out this time.

my wife calls it right, she says at least if we go out at home we dont have far to travel to drown our sorrows, nothing worse that that friggin journey home from groclin was a nightmare.

I'm waiting til I get to 118118 and then hanging up my posting boots.

I didn't feel too good about the tie until TMQ pointed out how resolute we can be. It all hinges on that 1st leg. Keep it tight and we could be in the semi-fucking-final!!!

You aint wrong there. We know we've got to be on our game for this and if we are then there's no reason why we can't get a result away or at home. It being a two-legged affair makes me feel a bit better about it all though :o)

Yes, and the fact that we are away first helps.
;-)

We can do this!
