Will we beat Hamburg? Yes or no?

We WILL beat hamburg because i think that we are too strong for anybody in that eufa cup at home and these German teams are very overated just look at shalke everybody told me that they would murder us and i disagreed we will be too quick and clever for them and here is another thing we will have our players back from injury aswell.

Dont know about billions, but we paid 6million pounds for Kompany, which has been brilliant value for money. He's worth atleast double that here in England.

As far as I know we paid between 12 - 18 million for De Jong, and whilst it does seem abit overpriced, to our owners that is nothing. De Jong was absolutely amazing against Liverpool recently and has been steadily getting better and better as he gets used to the pace of the game here. Very Makelele-esque. Next season Im sure he will be one of our best performers.

Of course its nothing for some sheik.
Also i didnt say that de Jong is a bad player. But this amount of money is unreal for a player like de Jong. It seems there were a lot of problems on his position, to force City sending out such a bidding.
Additionally de Jong had a fixed fee of 2 million € in summer 2009. 18 millions for a half year? Wow...

I googled for 5 sec and found this. There are a lot of other sources, also for Kompany.

<a class="postlink" href="http://mancity.theoffside.com/team-news/nigel-de-jong-deal-done.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://mancity.theoffside.com/team-news ... -done.html</a>

Hamburg is 16th in turnover of european football clubs. They dont have to sell players. But this bidding was insane...

Whether we paid 13mill of 18 mill (It's likely that it is somewhere inbetween) It's got nothing to do with De Jong. Club's just know we have loads of money so hold out for extra. We wanted the player now and not in the summer because this season is very important for us to set up our progression and to sign top class players in the summer. Whether we overpaid for his quality only time will tell. Chelsea paid lots of money on many players who werent considered world class at the time, but since have progressed and become top players.
De Jong and Kompany are 2 players who obviously have lots of potential. Paying 6 million for Kompany, who is only 22 and an extremely classy player is one of the buys of the season in my view.

these friendlys mean jack shit come on we beat ac milan....... i think kompany and ireland will be vital players for us away from home and if we can just get a draw or that away goal we shud do the job 2 - 0 at home ....

I think we can beat Hamburg, they are a very attack minded team and we suit the counter attack so why not.
One thing is for sure it will be the most entertaining game we will have been involved in, in the UEFA cup this season let hope for a sell out home leg.

Depends very much on injuries imho.

With a fit squad (and ESPECIALLY if we have Boj and Bellers in action) we will take them.

But if we are without key players such as the above (or Kompany, Zab in holding midfield) we will not beat them over 2 legs, I fear.

No Boj mate UAFA cup squad :-(

We play better against stronger teams and our away form in Europe is actually pretty good. Better then league away form anyway.

If we can keep everyone healthy and get Bellamy back, we have a real shot.

However Hamburg is a very good team so it will not be easy.
