Will We Do Business in the Winter Window?

If a top four finish is the aim,and it has to be........then,on top of Gabriel,certainly two or three new faces are required.

2 Full backs and a defensive minded midfielder please.
 
If we buy anyone decent in January we will pay way over the odds in terms of value.
 
Lets face it we are not short of money so at a time when we are struggling and going backwards why shouldn't we strengthen in the window. Chelsea running away with the league and the rags looking like throwing even more money around. Get the defence sorted and push for a strong finish.
 
Need to be resigned to the fact that we might not make top 4 and that we will need to wait until the summer to sort this mess out. I doubt quick fixes will help. There's a major rebuild to be undertaken and bringing in more short term fixes won't really help - it will complicate things further. Need contracts to run out in the summer and then recruit wisely. Pep will know who he wants out and who he wants in but I doubt any of these moves are possible in January.
 
Could see us going for Kolasinac (LB - can play CB too), he's out of contract in the summer, and Dahoud, who supposedly has a low release clause in the summer, or N'Zonzi
 
I really don't want us to make the same mistake. Let's not spunk a load of money in a panic buy. If the right defender isn't available then let's stay with what we have and wait till the summer. We've wasted far too much of our money. I'd rather see us overpay in the summer for the right player than waste £30m on an average player now if that makes sense.

Times passing, the window is now officially open, we've needed full backs desperately (loaned out our best two kids as well) for months. Surely 'the powers' can see that.

I was hoping for announcements as Big Ben struck. If we don't make moves or even if we wait til later in the month the prestige/league position for us could be a disaster by May. Bollocks to all the there's no value in the window stuff, there'll be no fucking value playing Thursday night for the suits that's for sure.

I really hope so.
Looking at the top 4 teams' form we're going to have to improve. Performances have generally been pretty flat and we look like conceding every time the defence is under pressure.

A new, fast left back and a commanding centre back are a must really.

I still think we can win the league IF we can turn things around starting with Burnley and go on a run of wins from there.
 
If Spurs beat Chelsea , PL will be wide open again . Liverpool play chelsea , united , arsenal and spurs in Jan . They will surely drop points

The issue we have is that we only have 1 overseas player slot available (Gundogans ) so I am assuming we will bring just 1 player in. To sign others, a player would need to leave to free up a slot. Unless of course we signed home grown players.

Or we act ruthlessly and dump the fullbacks who have been sh*t all season.

Personally I'm not even sure we will bring anyone in. I think if we were a professional outfit would have them lined up ready as we need them now not in Feb

I just don't think we planned to be struggling the way we are mate?
 
This current team will be lucky to make Champions league qualification at this stage, unless something drastic changes, like GJ comes in and bags 20 goals. We need a lot of players, I can partly see Pep just saying, lets write this season off and stick with what we have
