I'm not a City fan, per se, but I've seen enough to not be surprised by the cautious optimism on here. It's kinda what I like about City fans to be honest.

The other day while Liverpool were 3/1 for the title there was a guy contemplating the consolation bet. You can now get 9/1. A daft tenner to win the league with the consolation prize of his & hers City shirts. Or if you really mean business, £100 to win the league with the consolation prize of a little holiday in your his & hers City shirts.

Any manager in Peller's position would be saying "It's not over. We still need 100% commitment" etc. but I think he is the type who actually means it. You're in good hands, but who's tempted by that bet?

Me. That'll be the best £100 I've ever spent. Might stick a tenner on Chelsea too just to be sure.

Hahaha I never even considered the Chelsea angle. Never underestimate the pessimism of the City fan. What has this club done to you people?

Bookies say it, my dad does, common sense and law of averages does to.

I am saying fuck all, the closest i got was having a good laugh at Liverpool after all their rhetoric about how they will win it.

The irony of the media saying: "Villa and West Ham could be forgiven for thinking their games have been called off and the title has already been given to City".

When they had handed the title to Liverpool themselves for weeks.

There are a few things keeping me nervous.

Firstly Villa are have a decent record against better sides (they won at arsenal and drew at Liverpool beat Chelsea and ourselves at home). Secondly the only teams to leave the etihad with any points are Chelsea and Sunderland who like Villa had already beaten us earlier this season. West Ham drew with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. So both sides have had good results against our main rivals. Finally City are City so it wouldn't seem right not to be a little anxious.

I was about to say about Villa's abject record at ours. Then I remembered our Goodison hoodoo.

I was praying for a Palace win yesterday so that we could wrap it up tomorrow.

But the draw is still a huge result for us. Having the option to settle for a draw in one of the two games means we're more likely to win them. It wont be quite as tense if its 0-0 after an hour. Less risk of us over committing and getting caught out. We should play better football, a bit more patient not as frantic. And no need to check whether Liverpool are racking up a cricket score.

So glad UEFA have announced this now.

It will take the pressure of the team and I hope it has a Mourinho like effect on the fans. It's us against the world so let's get the stadium rocking because we are afraid of no one.
