Will we win the league this season?

Our squad needs trimming its is absolutely huge . But after watching last nights performance and tactics and endless options I am absolutely fucking buzzing !

I think Doku and Savinho will have much better seasons this time around, all the new signings look promising and Foden plus Rodri could act like new signings too - looking good !

The game last night is the first time I've felt like we have a chance.

We still need 1 or 2 more players, a right back ideally despite how well Nunes played.

I liked the energy shown in our last game against Juventus.

It was sharp all round, and a step up from the leaden feet we saw last season.

I'm not blaming the players for looking a bit jaded last season after all they have given us, which must be hard to maintain year on year, but if we keep performing like we did in that game and carry it on for the rest of the tournament, I'll be quietly optimistic for next season.

We have every chance IF the injuries are kept to a minimum, and VAR doen't try to fuck us over, like it did in most of the closing games. Villa soft penalty, Cup Final etc and so many unpunished fouls against City.
That has happened for over a decade so nothing new there. We have won our trophies despite VAR and referees, not because of.

More confident this season than I was for the start of last.

Last season of the 4-in-a-row (2023-2024) it felt like we were running out of steam. We didn't look anything like a treble winning side and managed to somehow crawl over the finish line. It was glossed over with the CWC and USC wins, but for the most part we were pretty average, with cracks appearing. So going into the start of last season (2024-25) was not encouraging in the slightest.

This time last year I wasn't buoyed at all, which proved to be the case; by November all the optimism of the season had been sucked out. But this season, we look hungry, new recruits look ready to prove themselves. Established players who were admittedly poor last season look eager to prove their doubters and critics wrong. That's what we've missed, that fire, that focus. I think we got drunk off our own success from 23-24, now it feels very much 'back to business'.
