Will we win the league this season?

In most of our best seasons we time it so around xmas we go on incredible runs - last season we didn't & had to fight for 3rd.

This year I believe it is key we start fast with some new tactics and a more aggressive attacking approach. That will mean teams once again play us with a bit of fear. Alternatively if we start poorly it will once again be a grind and the media will jump on that with a lot of negativity.

For me if Pep goes into full ruthless mode in his team selections - ie not just picking the older guys as a reward for the last decade - I can see us winning it again - that is my hope anyways.

And?

We should moan that we only have Haaland, Rodri, Foden, Cherki, Tijjani, Ait-Nouri, Doku, Bobb, Gvardiol, Marmoush (not mentioning Ederson and more defenders as some are being scapegoated now) and that we should sign more stars so that the fans are happy?

We have a great squad and one of the greatest managers of all time. Those unhappy with the squad or the manager should have a bit of perspective. United are a lesson unfolding in front of our eyes.

This is a good way to show that stats can be misused.

In 23/24 we not only won the title but were unbeaten in the CL, including by the future winners (two draws vs Real after being the better team overall). We didn't lose vs Liverpool either. As late as April we were chasing a consecutive Treble...

Last season was a disaster due to many injuries and aging players. Presenting both seasons as being continuous in quality (or as lacking such) is misleading.
A lot of people don't like the facts being given to them as it gets in the way of their logic.

Probably Liverpool, but I'd be happy just to watch us playing fast attacking football again. Anything else is a bonus.

Really blessed that as City Supporters me and my family have got to witness the last 10 years of success. Had the best 3 days of my life in Istanbul and I'm not quite sure anything will ever top that. Watching my old man cry for the first time was just a very surreal moment after what he's been through with City throughout his life. We don't know how lucky we are as City fans. Moments like that are priceless.

Pep will know everything that is wrong with the team. In fact, his list of 'what is wrong' will be at least twice and mush more detailed than yours and mine.

Most of what I see as wrong is based on the decisions made by the players (Nico being caught out of position, Gvardiol's ridiculous square passes to opponents on the edge of our box, Nunes having brain farts etc..). In my eyes, it's not the system. Granted, he chooses the players but if we are being fair, many of those who played a substantial number of games last season would not have been selected on so many occasions had we not had so many injuries. Plus, the physical 'falling of the cliff' from KDB, Gundo and Dias.

Pep is not blame free but to say that he doesn't know what is wrong is simply incorrect.
so we presume that he thinks ederson is a good goalkeeper. /

I just hope the January signed players get their fucking chance
Khusanov should be starting in my opinion.

He didn’t get many opportunities last season but when he did he was brilliant and had that warrior mentality and gave his all. For a young lad to come to a strange country where he doesn’t know anyone and doesn’t speak the language, and perform as he did in very difficult circumstances says everything I need to know about the lad.

I’ve said it before, he reminded me a lot of Zabaleta in many ways and you don’t get praise much higher than that from me.

Reis reminds me of Laporte. Imo he is one classy young lad.

We'll be there or thereabouts. Looking at Pep's full managerial career, anytime he's failed to win the league he's bounced back and won it the following year. Of course Dippers and Tarquins will challenge, but anytime City are in a tight fight with either of them we wear them down. History tells us City will win.
