Will we win the league this season?

I don’t think anyone, players or coaches, covered themselves with glory last season, so there’s considerable room for improvement. Apart from the new players settling in, I’m looking forward to seeing the coaches improve the more established players and bringing more innovation. The focus should be on pushing for the title which we can win, though probably not if we chase on multiple fronts and spread ourselves too thin.

I think theyve strengthened for sure , I remember when we were linked with frimpong and wanted wirtz alot on here were eager for us to sign them.
Wirtz yes, though Cherki might well turn out a better player, don’t think that many wanted Frimpong, don’t think he's better than Nunes, don’t think Kerkez is better than Ait Nouri, and we know Eketeke isn’t better than Marmoush or Haaland.
If they don’t strengthen centre backs they are one injury from a whole load of trouble. We might not win it but wouldn’t write us off and don’t think liverpool will run away with it.

Can we stop our propensity for conceding goals from almost every mistake at the back? I don’t think we make more errors than rags or scousers but for some reason teams need about ten chances to score against them. We seem to concede every time, especially if that’s the opponent’s only bloody shot. Not just last season either, but we used to be better so could usually get away with it.

We are City, we go for every trophy

We will be thereabouts and nailed on top 3 but we have to tighten up at the back. That fucking about from Trafford in the first 2 mins and free header from a corner is one nil down against any decent team. We have to cut that sloppiness out.

Also that mess up from Rodri and Ederson

That adage is often aired and sounds good, but we’ve never actually won them all in one season, and at times that desire to compete on all fronts has been our undoing, leaving the tank drained and us missing out in the spring. With so many new players joining, who have won nothing with us, and so many experienced players set to leave next summer, prioritising the League is sensible. It would set the platform for the next generation of players.

I think our chances depend on Rodri. To win the title we need solidity and consistency. Rodri starts 30+ games and we have a good chance to win. He starts fewer than, say, 22 games and it gets very difficult. Hopefully he will be fit enough to start many games.

Right now, Liverpool's transfer window could be either become brilliant or damaging. That is relevant. So it the return of John Stones at Palermo, hence Pep's beaming post-match remarks on the importance of John Stones to Manchester City. Stones looks fully fit to me and over that chronic foot injury that ruined his season.
