Agreed. teams have gone into the final day expecting to breeze it and lost - we nearly did!

And it's worth pointing out that when Brunhilde comes on she still takes another 25 minutes singing before the opera is over!!

I can't believe that Jose's mind games have worked on most people on here. He goes fishing and catches an entire forum!

As I posted last night, Atletico are away at Valencia on Sunday, so it's not like they've got an advantage. Jose obviously knows this so don't believe a word he says.
fact, he's full of shit.

Even if chavs rest a few -

swartzer - ok
Ivanavic is back
lampard cup tied so prob play
matic - cuptied
might want to give hazard some game time
mikel - cuptied
torres or ba - not much in it
oscar probably play

the only place that may be significantly weaker is centreal defense - I expect chavs to sit deep and try to break and they have some decent defensive midfielders so will always have a chance

Definitely still possible. I think we will win on Sunday, ideally we go into that game with Liverpool having lost, but I think they might draw with Chelsea. Either way we then can get to 87pts, 4 behind and then go to Goodison where we can put a marker down and get to within a point of Liverpool with a game in hand and they have all weekend to think about it. Palace can then turn Liverpool over and we have two home games to win in order to win the league.

The same way I expect Atletico to fall apart, and have all season (still feel they will end the season without a trophy), I have had that same feeling with Liverpool. Decisions, injuries, luck - all seem to have been with Liverpool and they've managed to squeeze through the last 3 league games. The fourth won't be so lucky and as soon as they slip up (this weekend) we play two games and can get 6pts back on them and really put the pressure on. It is our ability to win those two that I question. All season we have failed to win games we really need to win if we are serious title contenders. Arsenal away, Liverpool away, Chelsea at home for example. They were games that could have really put us in a leading position but we didn't take those chances. We only have one more opportunity to take an advantage and this is it. Even if Liverpool win against Liverpool, if we beat Palace and Everton we will be on 80pts, 3 behind them with both teams having two games left. They have the whole of Sunday and Monday to think - if we lose this game we lose our advantage and I think they will bottle it. About time Liverpool got their bad luck - Gerrard will get injured surely - it's a world cup year and England always lose a key player!

It will count for nowt. Gerrard has got his favourite ref - Atkinson. He is not gonna rewrite the refereeing manual. He might well rewrite the Laws of the Game, but he ain't gonna shaft Candlefield this season! The game is up, guys. We gave it a good go but it was the beginning of the season and failure in the January window that did for us. It's next season now!!
