Can't stop thinking back to moments like these. We could have cruised to the title with just some basic concentration from our defenders/keeper.

City, masters of self-inflicted gun shot wound... or would that be "Typical City"?

It's hard to blame the manager for things like this either. Pellegrini could be celebrating a title win quite easily.

Losing 4 games by Christmas time was the foundation to what cost us the league this season, we got ourselves back into it with a great run around Decemeber and January time but we didn't capitalize in key moments against Chelsea at home, Arsenal away and Liverpool away.

To sum it up for me we didn't concentrate enough in the first half of the season against lower opposition and the mistakes cost us, then in the second half of the season we bottled it in the big games that mattered.

Huge mentality issue going on in my opinion.

The Ramirez ban is like another nail in the coffin.

idk about nail in the coffin, but he will be a big miss. shame
He would never have played because of their game against Atletico.

I agree, I reckon their attack and midfield will be something on the lines of:

Shurrle -------- Ba -------- Salah
van Ginkel - Mikel - Lampard

Not sure about defence.

We lost our very first away game at Cardiff, got a point at Stoke in our 2nd away game, then lost our 3rd away game at Villa so yes we lost a lot of ground straight away. I don't think concentration was an issue, I think it was the uncertainty caused by managerial change.

Not to mention a very different style of play, the Cardiff result was circumstances too, their first home game at the top level, in their new stadium, it was the biggest minefield possible for the first away game, they've since won 4 more and lost 8. I suspect if we'd played them any other week, we'd have won the game, but we didn't and that result is history now, no matter how frustrating we find it. 20 points from 18 games, 19 goals scored and 33 conceded, Villa, West Brom, Fulham and Sunderland have worse records, and we lost at 2 of those 4 in the early weeks too.

Are you seriously putting dickov's goal alongside Auguero's. What about Summmerbee's cross to nelly young in 69

The league is beyond us. We should now concentrate on tying up 2nd place.

How do we approach tying up 2nd place differently to trying to win the league? Play for a draw tomorrow?
