Yesterday and today have put a big downer on the season for me. Greedy bastards who ever was pushing this. I can understand the club taking up the opportunity to have a place in this league, they’ve spent a lot of money to build this club up and turning down the invitation would see our value plummet. But I still can’t stand the idea of City turning their back on domestic football.

Time for City's tame fan base to protest. Time we made it clear to Mansour, Khaldoon, and Soriano we want no part of this.

Protes what, nothing has happened yet.

So much reaction out there ahead of actual news.

It is 68 years ago that my father took me to Maine Road to watch City. I now live in New Zealand, still a City fan, and have pay tv to watch football, City PM games.
I try to get a seat to watch them each time I go back to the UK.
I believe that this move, if it happens, will be the end of the great years of football. Tickets will be too expensive for a lot of people to afford, as will airfares and accomodation to go to away games. Never mind wasting half your lives in airports.
The fan base will drop off, so the sponsors will put their money into something else with a large fan base.
Yes, the end of football as we know it, and they will regret it. A cow can only provide a certain amount of milk, or a cash cow a certain amount of cash.

It's a fucking disgrace this, blues. And a massive missed opportunity for us to say "no, get fucked" and really show the world that we're still a club that cares about our people and even our lower league neighbours survival. But instead we've gone with the SNAKES who have been trying to put us out of business for the past 10 years (these cunts have been the puppet masters for uefa until now in our investigations). What a fucking shite weekend. I'm fuming tbh. Shower of fucking greedy bastards the lot of them

Absolutely not. It would break my heart. Not my friendship with other City fans.
I am an oversees fan since 76 and my love for the English league was a big part to try and get connected to an English club and their fans.

The moment I became a Cityfan as in a real Cityfan was after my friends invited me to Manchester and Maine Road. I never looked back and I haven’t regret it for one second ever.
I love being with the fans on matchday. In the pub and stadium. Or in the coach driving us up to the game or back home.
I love us playing other English clubs. Winning the league is and always be the best thing as a fan. It beats any cup competition and it’s definitely no match to any European game. Let alone the CL that to me represents everything that is wrong about football nowadays. But as being champions or finishing in the top 4, it brings along competing in this CL.

A break away league will be the final nail in the coffin for supporting the club, my club. It will end my days as being a footballfan, and a Cityfan. I won’t support any other team but it would end my relation with the club. Not my friends. Nor any Cityfans. The fans haven’t have a say in this. And taking a decision like this as a club means the club doesn’t bother about their fans nor is she interested in getting the fans opinion. Let alone act like what the fans want. Not supporting City to me won’t feel like leaving the club. The club will have left their fans if she does continue their plans for a breakaway league. It feels like betrayal. And for what? More money? Even more money? When does it stop? And when comes the moment fans actually profit from all this money? It’s just greed and I fck hate it.

Gary Neville, talking about (fair enough sensibly) about greed and morals in football... for Sky, who started the landslide

One thing that’s hurts is for years our own club was fighting against uefa and against a closed shop, at the first chance we’ve now joined that. What was the point in fighting against uefa now?
