Well at least Typical City is still alive.

Manchester City just about to win the league and we go and implode football.

I just don't get how our owners can be so arrogant. They must have known this would go down like a lead balloon and we are the leading club. Not any more. Football is dead.

I'd have loved for us to have said no, and stayed onside and resisted but we turned our back on football and took the money.

Ultimately we will see a solution worked out between UEFA and this new Super League. Just a matter of time. As for points deduction, exclusion from league, Premier League can simply not afford that, these clubs are their entire brand. Will be interesting days ahead.
If the PL do nothing they'll face a shitload of litigation from the other 14 clubs.

I think this is just a power play, part of negotiations and won’t go ahead.
UEFA will probably have to give some more ground to the greedy clubs, of which we have sadly got into bed with.

Never been more ashamed of supporting this Club than I am tonight. I'd swap many more years of us being shit than being involved in this sort of thing, what the hell have we done?
Absolutely this^^^^
Absolutely fucking shameful that we have thrown our lot in with our enemies and those who will still look to destroy at the first opportunity, like some sick parody of a battered wife or a hostage with Stockholm Syndrome

Also think American Football on TV in US coming to UK.

There will be adds literally every single minute, scrolling permanently at the bottom of the screen, every water break advert.Every player being treated advert TV will cut away to the new Chrysler what the fuck like 20 times a game

4 quarters per game for more sponsors adds is almost a certainty.

This on top of another subscription.

I think there’s a good chance that a solution is worked out, but the damage is done to a large extent. The club have put our name down, along side 5 others, as a club who think they’re better, and more entitled, than every other team in England.

The only thing that gains you entitlement is merit. Money infected football a long time ago, buying success was the last dirty but somewhat valid means of gaining success and merit. This tournament isn’t based on merit, it’s built on greed, and the club have jumped into the greedy bed.

The difficulty for us is that, in my opinion, we were painted into a corner. It would have been commercial suicide not to join this operation.

It's clear to me that this is American driven and that the model is the American NFL. Also, if we look at the investment we received from Silver Lake ($500 million), an American Silicon Valley private equity company, the writing was on the wall. There is no way that they took such a large stake without them having lots of conversations about maximising returns on their financial investments.

Fundamentally it stinks, but we all know that this has been lurking in the background for some time. The fact that is being bankrolled by the US banking giant JP Morgan speaks volumes for who is controlling this decision. Also, we all know that there have been news reports going back to 2019 of plans for a super league. So we can't pretend that this is a shock.

We also need to consider whether this is a gigantic game of bluff, with the clubs involved wanting a greater share of the revenue from the European competitions, and also a say in remodelling the Champions League. It's possible that UEFA will blink, and compromise with the Super League clubs.

I am hoping, perhaps naively, that this will be the case.

So that’s why I asked a fucking question. You need to check you head in. Ffs not sure I ever wrote I support it.
IF I've misrepresented your view I apologise, but you must understand how match going fans for many years (50+ in my case) feel so deeply angry about this shite, and feel let down by our own club, and worse to be cosying up to the very clubs that wanted to destroy us.

It's a very dark day.
