Willy has to play in the Final

Willy has helped us get to the final and deserves his starting place.

Joe was brought in for the FA Cup Final against Wigan and it was an unmitigated disaster. Not really Joe's fault but it was very damaging to Club morale to dump Pants!
If you say so

Caballero has featured in every League Cup game this season and is set to feature between the sticks at Wembley on Sunday.

Previewing the encounter, he added: "I feel the confidence of the boss to bring me into this game. I try to enjoy it, and try to improve every week.

"I have to be ready for this date, which will be fantastic for us. I think it will be a great final.

"We must be ready for everything, even for penalties. Beating Liverpool will be fantastic but it won't be easy, so we must play well, defend well and be solid.

"The most important thing is to win, it doesn't matter how."

Glad to see he is willing to let Hart start this one.

If you say so

I've been going 40 years and the Wigan debacle was the biggest shambles I've seen, even by our comedy standards for much of that time!

Costel said he wanted to be a regular starter. Who wants a back up keep whose happy to be on the bench all season!

I must admit, I'm not feeling the hate for WIlly. I don't think he's a particularly good keeper but my issue here is only with the manager. He has worked with him long enough to know his strengths and weaknesses yet he wasted money and a foreign player slot in our Champions League squad on him and chose to promise him League Cup matches at the start of the season despite him barely having had a decent match for us. It's just jobs for old mates which I have no time for and goes on way too much in football. Once he has been stupid enough to promise the reserve keeper the League Cup matches (assuming he has), I don't have an issue with him honouring that. Willy will no doubt try his best, he will quite possibly throw one in but there is only one person to blame. I'm more worried that the manager won't have learnt tactical lessons from the last time we played Liverpool because let's face it he rarely learns.

Does article suggest its a done deal and he will be in goal on Sunday??
If so I hope he plays well and we win, god forbid if we lost due to a goalkeeping blunder, MP would have a lot of explaining to do.

Do you actually think you're making a point?

The point is that anyone thinking thinking Joe's selection will guarantee the win wants to leave the drugs alone!

Five goals conceded in our last two home games by Joe hasn't been great (although he had little protection versus Leicester). Joe has had a good season overall but he's also out of form too at the wrong time! The save Kasper made against Fernando Joe would never have made.

Regardless of the article, does anyone really believe that Willy isn't going to start on Sunday? I would be utterly astonished if Joe starts.

Very good post!

You're talking absolute shite about Joe IMO, he made more big saves in that match than schmeichel, at least three one on ones so who is to say he wouldn't have saved that? And can we not call him "Kasper" he's schmeichel and he's a ****.

Goalkeepers form is a very important thing to manage. After a game like Wily had against Chelsea, he needs to be taken out. Manuel needs to be consistent here. He took Joe out for way less a couple years ago. If you asked any of the players in the back 4 who'd they'd rather I'm sure you'd get a unanimous answer.

No room for sentiment here. Joe minding our goal, they way it should be.

Out of form? Are you taking the piss.

At least it will probably be the last time we see him play for us. Roll on summer when Pellegrini and his sub standard cronies are gone.

Yes Joe is great with the one on ones but he's got to demand players on the posts for set pieces versus Leicester!

I remember the "Charmless Man" from Trafford being faced with a similar dilemma with Jim Leighton in 1990. Jim had followed him down from Aberdeen and was his first choice keeper. He had an absolute mare in the FA Cup Final against Crystal Palace and so the GPC dropped him for the Replay. He brought in, the then on loan, Les Sealey who played a blinder and the scum won the Cup. Nasty? Yes. The right decision? Yes. Sealey gave Leighton his medal after the match (subs didn't get one in those days) but was subsequently given a duplicate by the FA.

Joes's been great at his basic keeping duties but Pep will want to ensure Joe improves at marshalling the defence.
Two goals conceded from set pieces at the near post vs Leicester says a lot.

IMHO this compares with the shambolic wall that Willy "set up" versus Chelski where the chavs signalled where they were going to hit the ball.

Both keepers made mistakes in these games Sunday league sides would be embarrassed about!
