Wimbledon 2023 | Alcaraz beats Djokovic in the final

Looks like a Russia v Belarus women's final could be on the cards, how will the spectators react to that?
It can’t be, the four semi finalists were from Ukraine, Czechia, Belarus and Tunisia.

The Czech got through to the final earlier.

Like every other sport the standard evolves to be better and eventually Alcaraz will have Djokovic's number and will set the bar even higher. He's only 20 as it is and looking good on all surfaces.

Federer will always be my No1 though, like and respect all 3 but watching Fed was like watching porn. Hits more winners but maybe not as mentally tough as Nadal and Djokovic.

Federer was cooler and smoother around the court than anyone else n’all.

Caught a bit of the first semi final and noticed that the winner didn't grunt and this second one Jabeur is not a grunter either, will be a quiet final if Jabeur wins this.

Sabalenka has lost her rhythm
,she’s playing terribly
She George Foreman/Rope-a-Dope’d herself.

She spent too much time screaming her lungs out of her gob, being moody and hammering the ball as hard as she could that she expended far too much energy on the wrong things.

She was too fatigued and not concentrating on the right things. She was all over the place with her aim in the second half of the match and like you said lost her rhythm because she was taking ages between serves to catch her breath.

Much better watch without all that carrying on. She sounds like those links you get sent on WhatsApp that get you in trouble in work.

Have to laugh at the way they can't put the nationality of the Belarus player on the large scoreboard but commentators then refer to her regularly as the Belarussian.
Something similar to Medvedev yesterday.

Andy Swiss on the BBC 6 o'clock suggests that Ons Jabeur (6th seed and last year's finalist) will be the favourite taking on the world No42, the first unseeded player in the final since God knows when. Really? I'd never have guessed. How much is Andy trousering for stating the fuckin' obvious?
