Winning silverware: Does it matter?

In a century's time will anyone look back in the history books and pay any attention to which team were the soft cnuts who played pretty football but ultimately didn't have the courage or desire to go and win trophies...or will people be looking for who won what, when, and which players and manager helped them achieve it?

I've thought the same thing, we come away from so many games with so much satisfaction and joy and happiness at the way we have played and battered the opposition, is there any need for the extra satisfaction from winning a trophy at the end of it? I know exactly what you're thinking, but I still want silverware as the players will deserve it if they carry on like this

Yep, just look at who gets remembered from the 60s and 70s.
I'm going to agree with F&T on this one (and pelle).
Winning trophies is important, but the manner in which you win them is equally important.
Besides, we need to win the league this year, we'll be the best side to win it if we do, imo.

Ultimately its only the winning that is recorded in the history books, the rags were outplayed by Bayern and won the CL and only John Terry's incompetence gifted them the second trophy, last year they had no business winning the PL playing that poorly. That's football..!

Exactly, the football we've been playing this season, we'd be ruining football ;) if we didn't make sure it was recorded for posterity.

Long may it continue mate, we are sublime at home at the moment and picking up big time away, I feel like this will be the best season in the clubs history and I'm loving every second of it. The fact that it has coincided with the demise of rag fuck pigs only enhances the experience. cant wait for the game tomorrow :-)

For me personally, no. Not in the short term.

Have to be honest. Feels very very strange seeing so many blues answering in the affirmative.
