You could probably find flaws with any of the potential England captains.

Luckily I couldn't give less of a fuck who captains England.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'd rather see City win a corner than England win the World Cup.
That goes without saying mate,
you not watching the WC then

Of course I will! I love football. However, I just don't feel anything for the England team. The last time I remember getting into it was Euro 96 but since then I just feel nothing.

I don't force myself not to like England, in fact it's the complete opposite, and I've analysed why I feel like this and I can't put my finger on it. A major factor is the fact that I dislike the vast majority of English footballers. I can put up with ours but I simply can't get behind c*nts like Ashley Cole, Ferdinand et al. To be fair to Rooney, at least he isn't your generic bling wearing gangsta wannabe footballer, so I can cope with him surprisingly.

Another major factor is I'm not patriotic at all. I love Manchester and Salford and would defend them to the hilt but not so England on the whole. Furthermore, I have no interest watching England next to a load of knobhead cockneys and yonners from Yorkshire backwaters singing "No Surrender!"

You never know, I might change as I get older, but I doubt it.

I actually feel the same (apart from the salford bit) and we'll still be sick in late june when we get knocked out in the quarter finals, if we're lucky the semis. This bollox just does not help the cause. I've analysed why i have never bothered to go to an England match and like you the only people i want to be next to at a match are fellow blues.

After saying that I don't feel the need to destroy somebody just because he shagged a slapper

I'm non-plussed by the whole affair. 'Footballers in Sleep Around with Money Grabbing Slag Shocker' Is it even news?

I honestly don't think I will be arsed if England went out. In fact, there's a bitter and twisted side to me that wants to see the players I hate the most get shit from the press and the public. I try to suppress that side from coming out but it's difficult. However, Ferdinand lifting the World Cup, I'm sorry but that's not a glorious sight for me.

Embrace Salford as your friendly neighbour. We can live in perfect harmony ;-)

great quote by a rag on ssn

'he'll be ok as long as he keeps his head on the ground'.

is he a worm or a snake?

Did you see that cross-section of pond life they interviewed? It looked like a Spoons, possibly Picadilly, so I can understand it but can't condone it

Middle aged man in Norwich City scarve. Arf!

I'v just realised that I do not give a flying fornication who is captain of England.

It's a fu*king joke,

His wife has left him and most people think he's a cu*t but so what!
He gets paid for doing a job and he's the best leader England have ON THE PITCH.

Sorry if all our English internationals are upset but your feelings off the pitch don't matter.

Now wio is captain. Fucking great (not)

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot

I have yet to meet the person who can divorce his or her feelings depending on which situation they find themselve in.

The England setup seems to be the shenanigans of our MP's played out in the national sport. There appears not to be one character within the England national team with the moral rectitude and performance on the pitch which, together, should engender the respect needed to carry out the captain's duties on and off the field.

To swap a serial philanderer for someone currently serving a four match ban for violent conduct, having just twisted the system to get a semi-final in before an obvious exclusion, just shows life as some highly paid professionals live it!

international footy is shite.....the world cup?

Weeeoooo as capt sums it up....over rated over priced wanker.....drink driver, sex orgy video, drug taking and drug missing cheat - perfect for capt in my view!

as for the wc finals.....there will be a press build up, usual shite.....english will have a player with an injury...usually an ingrowing toenail or something really stupid....the press will build it up again, Rooney to be kept in an air tank under north sea to help heal injury bollox....games are usually shite as some teams are rated about 4th division standard .....england will beat weaker teams with a bit of a scare that press will love.....reach quarter finals and then go out on pens to the germans....groundhog day or what!!

I might catch the odd game but wont be going out of my way....

being Irish I can only hope those lads who gave a wave to the Togo teams coach do the same to that cheating french team! NOT LETTING THAT ONE GO, AM I LOL
