Without David

In the future when your grandkids ask you an opinion on any future city player you'll simply be able to answer "he's good but he's no David Silva"

Foden moves like him though and if he can get close to Silva's level I will be over joyed

He's irreplaceable, a complete one of a kind and whilst he does actually get plenty of respect from opposition fans he will get even more once hes gone and will rightly be mentioned with the greatest this league has ever seen.

When he eventually leaves we won't replace him we will just adapt and learn to live without him, we did it with Yaya, we're in the process of doing it with Kompany and we will have to do it with Sergio, Silva and Fernandinho in the not to distant future too but we're in the best hands, we've got kdb, Bernardo silva and the potential of Foden already at the club, not to mention the funds to unearth another gem or wait for one to develop and buy them in. Instead of worrying about what will happen when hes gone let's just appreciate every silky smothered touch whilst he remains

If he spent his time with Barca or Real and had the same success that he's had with us, he would be a serious contender for the Ballon D'or year after year without a doubt.
He wouldn’t.
Iniesta and Xavi never won it.
Just the way things work.
They are two of the best midfielders this century, as is Dave.

The simple answer is we won’t.

It’s not about trying to replace him like for like or try to copy him. It’ll never work. We have Bernardo and Phil who are both completely different players but both could essentially play his role.

He’s one of the greatest footballlers in this generation.

He is quite simply irreplaceable.

I’m going to say it - the most intelligent footballer of the Premier League era.

Perhaps Henry had more natural talent and Keane was more influential. But for intelligence, seeing the pass, dictating the game, and having the bravery to always want the ball in the tightest spaces, he’s the best I’ve seen.

We will adapt without him and still be successful, no doubt. DeBruyne, Bernado, Foden can all offer something similar but slightly different, and we’ll adapt.

But for his gracefulness on the pitch, the timing of when he joined, to be a key player in essentially 3 different teams, the affection the fans have for him, he is irreplaceable. Name that stand after him, without a moment of doubt.

He’s remarkable. Yesterday he barely gave the ball away and a rival player can be an inch away from him but they can never win the ball off him.

It’s true we are blessed with midfielders and we’ll be okay when he does finally hang his boots up. However we will never ever be able to replace him like for like. He’s that special.
