Wolves (A) Post Match Thread

They got in our faces. Closed the spaces down well. Those last ditch tackles were because of their shape.

That said they got away with a load of tactical fouling, a goal that should never have stood and constantly had the bounce of the ball.

Nothing fell for us and that is the type of game that will happen once or twice a season. It's usually Liverpool.

Not at all concerned. Ederson didn't have to make a save barely and we hit the woodwork 3 times. Loads of last ditch saves as well.

Looks like City fans have got the number 1 scapegoat in Gundogen reading this thread.

Just one of those days and Wolves deserve enormous credit. 2nd half was poor and very rare to say it but we was all over the place and too many players having an off day. The amount of times we gave the ball away was very unlike us
After going behind a point is not the end of the world . Although I was hoping not to give a sniff of hope for any of our rivals even at this early stage
Learn our lessons and move on

Well their goal was a handball. Timely first for Laporte, great header my motm. Not the best, can look to the ref mistake, especially this early it's a result I think I'll take.

Our finishing was what cost us, don't think we can complain

I'm complaining. Blatant pen on Silva and how did Aguero end up chewing grass when he went headlong? And how did the lino not spot the arm that nudged the ball over the line for the Wolves goal. Sky re-ran the goal again in the second half and finished off with the camera focussing on the lino. They know it was handball! And how does Vinny get booked for cleaning out one of theirs when throughout the game a number of our one-twos were stopped with the one being taken out. We got the kick but no booking for the transgressor. Atkinson has done his usual job. We were unlucky with the woodwork. i wonder what Pep was asking The Time Lord at the end. I think he might have mentioned the word 'penalty'! Any ref this afternoon would give either of those, and both would be given in front of the Stretford End or the Kop!

Well, done Aymeric! But when is Mahrez gonna do us proud. He had his wellies on the wrong feet today - again! And what is up with Leroy? One or two nice touches but jeez!

Pleased to get away from there with a point, i suppose you have to "hand" it to Wolves for causing us some problems.
For all the unjustified stick Gundogan got from the usual suspects, he came up with the cross for the goal and was far from our worst player today. Walker and Mendy were a liability at the back today with their careless passing at times.
Sane came on and couldn't seem to control the ball for the first 10 minutes. When we should have been pressing in the last 10 minutes for a winner, Walker and Sane decided it would be more fun to gift the ball to Wolves 4/5 times instead and let them break on us.
Overall, sloppy at the back and not clinical enough up front but still managed to leave with a point after falling behind to a blatant hand ball.

If that's what Ilkay offers when DeBruyne is out, we're in bigger trouble than some seem to think.

Bigger trouble ?? Most probably we’ll finish second or first and might win a trophy even with him in the team. We drew today against quite a good wolves team. Bit of an overreaction

I'm not sure the Silva penalty was as stonewall as some think. Their legs got tangled, but I'm not sure I'd be happy if that was given against us in all honesty......

Dear Sir,

Please accept this reply to your post as an official unofficial ban from posting any further thoughts in regard penalty decisions for the remainder of the season.
