Wolves (A) Post Match Thread

I'm complaining. Blatant pen on Silva and how did Aguero end up chewing grass when he went headlong? And how did the lino not spot the arm that nudged the ball over the line for the Wolves goal. Sky re-ran the goal again in the second half and finished off with the camera focussing on the lino. They know it was handball! And how does Vinny get booked for cleaning out one of theirs when throughout the game a number of our one-twos were stopped with the one being taken out. We got the kick but no booking for the transgressor. Atkinson has done his usual job. We were unlucky with the woodwork. i wonder what Pep was asking The Time Lord at the end. I think he might have mentioned the word 'penalty'! Any ref this afternoon would give either of those, and both would be given in front of the Stretford End or the Kop!
The Silva penalty doesn't happen if the first goal is correctly ruled out
We didn't show any urgency until we went a goal down.
A point today isn't the worst result and I think there's a bit of overreaction to the game today

One of those days. We were better than Wolves but they weren’t bad and were lucky with their handball goal. Few too many loose balls today but that wouldn’t have mattered if one of our good chances went in.

Kompany will not start the next game

I'd wager Sane will not start either.
Disappointing that we brought on two quality subs and both of them were poor.

Wolves played well, to be fair. Everyone of their players played well and they were disciplined. They are a very fit team. I'm confident they will get some big results this year.

I thought our defence struggled, with the exception of Laporte. Great finish for the goal. Walker had one of his poorest games for us. He couldn't pass water.

Thought Sergio played well, as did Jesus for the limited time he was on. Sterling good too but he was fairly quiet second half.

Neville was at his most irritating during the game. His mask has well and truly slipped. As for him recommending Wolves' approach should be used by other teams against us, we should have scored a hatful whilst we made several unforced errors.

How?

We had twice as many shots.

Conceded a goal that should stand for two reasons.

Hit the woodwork 3 times.

Had twice the possession.

That game can be played 100 times and in none would it be a “fair result”

fair because wolves played well, created more chances against us than most teams, had a clear game plan which worked. Yes it was a handball clearly but they got into great positions and could have scored others....in terms of the way the two teams played it was a fair result...we were poor by our standards and sloppy all over the pitch...a better attacking team would have beaten us today.

Didn't deserve to win Wolves should could have had 2 or 3 our players didn't earn their wages today a point is all we deserved
We weren’t great, but I still think we deserved a win. Wolves could had 2 or 3? 2 or 3 chances very rarely means 2 or 3 goals and this wolves side don’t convert a high ratio of their chances. 1 nil, 2-1, that sort of result would have been a fairer reflection.

Didn't get the breaks but Wolves will take points from a lot of sides at home. Disappointing result but it's a point away from home.

We need to get games into Sane. Looked rusty but then showed what he can do

Looks like City fans have got the number 1 scapegoat in Gundogen reading this thread.

Just one of those days and Wolves deserve enormous credit. 2nd half was poor and very rare to say it but we was all over the place and too many players having an off day. The amount of times we gave the ball away was very unlike us
After going behind a point is not the end of the world . Although I was hoping not to give a sniff of hope for any of our rivals even at this early stage
Learn our lessons and move on

His main flaw is that he's not De Bruyne but nobody is. I would prefer Bernardo in the middle with Sane on the wing. Particularly away from home

Well done Wolves. At least they played football and got their reward.
Sorry Blue, not to gripe but playing football is one thing (they were great to watch) but scoring by deliberate handball and an offside goal is another. Think I know what you mean but a reward by cheating no matter how shit we were is not a reward. CTID
