Wolves (H) | PL | Post-Match Thread

It seems that teams who turn up at The Etihad have either a single tactic or a mix of all of them - blatant thuggery, testing the resolve of the ref to book them, parking the bus and hoping the ref is generous, or getting in the face of the ref and questioning every decision that goes against them. Today Wolves opted for the blatant thuggery model, three cards in the first quarter hour, and haranguing the ref hoping that he will continue to give them carte blanche on hacking down Jack.

And just how did the ref and VAR conspire to scrub off the pen in the first half for the clear trip on Jack?

The ref today was as good as the others have been - all a downgrade on a visit to the sewage farm.

Ederson, 7 - Looked more like his usual self, made that nice save from Podence

Lewis, 7 - Looked nice and tidy, not sure why he got taken off
Stones, 8 - Loving that Boney M chant, deserves it as well
Akanji, 8 - That's more like it, was a big part of why we were so dominant
Laporte, 7 - Nice to have him back, always looks so composed on the ball

Rodri, 7 - Got that silly booking but then kept his head firmly screwed on and was his normal self
De Bruyne, 8 - Thought he was really good today, lovely cross for Haaland's first
Gundogan, 6 - Was a bit in and out of the game for me, and crikey that miss

Mahrez, 7 - Changed the game in the move for the first goal, bothered Wolves throughout
Grealish, 7 - Unlucky not to score in the first half, in a nice run of form
Haaland, 10 - Nothing left to say

We started well today, with a lot more intent than we have of late, there wasn't as much side to side stuff from the centre backs. The midfield had a little more zip too and the team had a little more cohesion. I don't think wolves ever really threatened us at all. I would have liked to see a few more people actually shooting at the goal rather than trying to dribble through a wall three or four times.

Lol. 18 pages after a really important win and much improved performance. Proof indeed that folk on here are only happy when they’re moaning. Thought Stones was outstanding today. Atmosphere certainly better. Anyone know what was up with Rico or was it tactical taking him off?
That’s only natural, people don’t organise demonstrations in public squares to show the government how happy they are. Yet the do in protest.

After a win, people are more likely to go to the pub instead of straight home after the game and those watching at home will more likely get another beer out of the fridge rather than come on here.

RAWK …

Is the robot a bit of a flat track bully? Always banging in hat-tricks against the teams down the bottom.

Never scored at Old Trafford, Anfield, Stamford Bridge, in Charity Shield or barely touched the ball in those games. United at home he banged them in but United were rotten that day.

It doesn't matter if he scored 40-50 league goals if he's not scoring in the big games they won't catch Arsenal.

And …

He is. The smaller teams are just happy to be sharing a pitch with him as opposed to actually doing their job and preventing him scoring.
He'd offer nothing to a side that doesn't create tap in after tap in.

He’s just a 25 goal (so far) tap in merchant lads and lasses.
I knew we should have signed Nunez.

Not having that. We’re just miserable twats ;)

What was the Boney M song. Couldn’t make out what was being sung
