We have conceded only 4 goals in the last 8 games.

Looks like we have the ability to win with only 1 goal again.

But this line up did not play well or more to the point, Pep didn't. We were meandering for most of the second half playing keep ball but with no incision. 1-0 against a side with players like Cunha is always dangerous and lo and behold he hit the bar out of nothing. Marmoush played out of position, Gundo made a few good runs but wasn't often found but thought he was poor. Bernardo taking far too many touches on a lot of occasions and KDB slow and ineffective but smashing goal.
But the lads got through it which is all that matters

winning teams selectively. there were still lots of tight games like this where we struggled and got the job done (TM)

That was a very tough watch and winning ugly is just fine. No idea why several players stayed on as long as they did. How does Pep get us playing like we have done in previous seasons again, that is the big question?

I thought Bernie was great today. In fact most of the golden oldies were good.

I’ve noticed that in our games, the clear reds aren’t given if our players aren’t seriously injured.

It was the same at Newcastle a couple of years ago when Trippier made a horrendous challenge on De Bruyne, and that one on Sane at Cardiff as well.

The ref was fucking useless. The Bernie studing was shocking. The guy thought he was going off.

We're in control of the games though.
We tightened up in the second half and they hardly threatened.
We need to be more clinical but no Rodri, Foden and Haaland is a major reason why we're not, but anyway, winning matches is all that matters now!

I’m far from convinced and even if true, I much preferred our old way of controlling games, where we would be 3-0 up and the opposition wouldn’t touch the ball. This relying on the woodwork to save us, doesn’t give me the same confidence.
