Actually he was far from shit. He was a good, solid, full back. And he was one of our players at a time when most players in this country wouldn’t touch us with a barge pole.

Unfortunately he was also an easy target for overweight, BO-stinking, cowardly wankers to take out the stress of their own unhappy, undervalued shithole lives on.

The abuse he got off “top top blues” was disgusting then and no less so now.

To be fair neither were given as offside, so without VAR would have stood, and with VAR trying to knock them off they still stood, Laporte's goal however was fine, and then manipulated.

Also their free kick leading to the goal wasn't a foul either.

They got one of our goals chalked off tonight, tried to get 2 more chalked off, and awarded a free kick that wasn't, that gave them a goal.

After all that, we still won 4-1, fuck the cheating twats, they're not good enough.

Wolves are no mugs and are still dangerous this season, but we took them apart when it mattered. Our ability to step things up when it matters is awesome.

But the number of, and seriousness of, those mistakes was directly in proportion to the level of abuse he received. In fact abuse isn’t even the right word for it. It was semi-organised , whipping boy style, direct bullying of a young man at his place of work, doing his best at a job that - for 100% certain - he was better at than every single person giving him shit every week.

He was one of our own and in the latter part of his career he used to visibly wilt in front of us, BECAUSE of the abuse he was receiving.

Nobody, not one person, who partook in that organised bullying has the right to call himself a City fan. Not then, and not now.

Anyway, we digress, 21 and on.

The abuse Edgehill got was absolutely disgusting and it's the only time in my life that I have ever been ashamed to be a blue, listening to it all on the kippax. I would not mind but it was after injuries and he was nowhere near as bad as people were making out. Just goes to show that people were cunts, long before social media gave them a voice. To this day I still can't believe that we ruined the confidence of a local lad who was trying his best.

I met Edghill once in person with my old man, Edghill was an absolute twat on the day. Wouldn't let anything like that bother me because people do have off days whether your a pro footballer or cleaner or whatever we are all human. Met him again in 2000 at a friendly he was being a **** again...
