Foden's oppourtunity for playing time is way, way bigger. There's no comparison. Alvarez's main compeition is 22-year-oöd Erling Haaland, the best striker in the world. Not even Sergio Aguero in his prime would be a starter ahead of Haaland whose goalscoring numbers is unprecedented.

Since Pep won't change the system to accomodate Alvarez, I don't really think he has a future in Man City as a starter unless he completely reinveny himself.

I’m a bit surprised with our starting 11 today. I really expected to see Dias, Walker and Cancelo. Still, it’s a very strong team and if we play with intensity we should win comfortably.

No Foden in the squad. I haven’t read that he’s injured. Is he out of favour ? We’ve barely seen him since the World Cup.
