I love Alvarez but the fact he’s a WC winner is irrelevant. Otamendi lifted it too - do you want him back?

Alvarez was Argentina's 2nd best player and completely flipped the script after the Saudi Arabia loss. Otamendi nowhere near had the same level of important/impact as Alvarez.

Besides, he's 34. So I don't want him back.

Indeed, but there's not really a pressing need to have 2 right footed CBs and Laporte is much better at passing than Akanji.
