Can’t argue with the de bruyne substitution because he with Sterling kept conceding possession......plus Walker giving away absolutely needless free kicks.

Bernardo and Rodri played well without any real help.

Freeing up Fernandinho to go in midfield will also be huge. He is so important to what we do. Everything went through him last season.

I think people are underestimating how big a loss Laporte is.

Taking dinho out of midfield has been a huge loss. He's the best holding midfielder in the league
 
Should Mendy clear it yes. Was it a foul yes. Pep’s kdb sub cost us but let’s be honest we ain’t good enough. Too many average players

Everyone's entitled to an opinion (before anyone says 'I'll express my opinion whenever I want'). There's no way a single fan on here can claim to know better than Pep about tactics and substitutions. We have to rotate because of fixtures - Pep has to trust players and not rely on Kevin as though we can't do anything without him. Truth is, one bad mistake and one off the scale bad mistake has cost us. Nothing Pep can do about Sterling's control failure and Mendy's failure to spot the Traore.

It’s a push but firstly Mendy should have just cleared in but, secondly if Mendy wanted to run it out he needs to be stronger than that. He’s got no excuse, it’s poor play from him and I hope he’s held his hand up in the dressing room because he seriously let the team down tonight.

No worries. Long and rough night, the ups and downs take it out of you. At 80 mins i thought we were doing really well, to lead against a determined team with 10 men. A couple bad decisions later, the spirtit of the whole team and pep looked shot. I hope it is better away from the cameras, i really do. This bouncing from blow to reaponse and back will catch up with them.

I’m not sure our recruitment is diamonds in the rough centred to be honest. Of buys since 2017 it’s probably only Rodri who was largely unknown.
 
When Garcia came on I thought lovely, Fernandinho back in the middle where he belongs, we'll shut up for 0-2. Imagine my shock at seeing a back 5, playing so deep it was uncomfortable to watch. And uncomfortable for the players too. Pep and his coaching staff need to work wonders now to get this lot up to retain the cups.

Sane won’t be playing. Pep has said that Fern won’t be going back into midfield.
Plus, Laporte and Fern is by far our best current partnership at the back. Wouldn’t trust Stones or Ota against any of the big teams ( or little ones)

Rodri isn’t an 8.
 
I think there is a lot of whinging going on and overreactions.

We've had some shite results off the back of some bad luck, need I remind anyone the first loss came the very next game after Laporte was injured.

Can't believe what I'm reading from some blues "pep out", "pep hasn't made any good signings", "sell the whole team and buy a new squad".

Saying that though I think Stones needs to be sold in the summer after this season(obviously Ota too). I know he's had injuries but he's a player that cost us £50m, when it's not injuries, it's personal problems and bad form all getting in the way of him being the player we thought we'd be able to rely on to step up with an injury to someone as important as Kompany or Laporte. He's been nowhere to be seen when we needed him, I'm starting to see what people have said about him lacking the mental strength that we need.

But for 1 or 2 lengthy passages of play, the team couldn't put 3 or 4 passes together.
From the last 10 minutes of the first half it was just an onslaught of attack against defence and with 10 men, you ain't gonna withstand that pressure.

I'm not listening but I did think it was a foul on Mendy. I don't know why he chose to try and defend like that though. Bad decision.

As a team we can't defend. I don't think City had the energy levels to play a possession game. We chose to defend the box. The guy who is getting away with all the criticism is Fernandinho. He is not challenging for anything.

This has turned into a re-run of our first season under Pep. Then we had an entire defence who couldn't defend. Now we have Otamendi and Fernandinho who can't defend.

The only thing is we have half a season left and Laporte will be back in around 4 weeks or so.

I feel certain City will buy a central defender in the Summer as Pep has Stones but doesn;t seem willing to play him.

As soon as the game kicked off Wolves targeted our central defence and it worked. Man Utd did the same. We can't do anything till we fix that.
