Wolves Thread - 2023/24

Agreed.

On that showing, Wolves will have nothing to worry about at the bottom end of the table.

I thought they were excellent tonight; by far the better team, and deserved the three points.
Typical VAR performance. impressed with how GoN handled himself got to be tough coming into a team a couple of days before the season starts but I think he’ll do ok.

They need a goal scorer badly and I worry for them.

Easier said than done but if Wolves do manage to find a half decent striker then they will be looking at the right end of the table.

They survived without one last season. With Luton and Sheff Utd, they only have to be better than one other to have an acceptable season. Without big investment and with G O'N in charge, that'll be good enough - but, he got Bournemouth mid table from absolute shite last season, so, who knows? Good luck to him.

They are in some sort of FFP trouble, arent they? Do we know what that is about? I remember a story that a PL club was being investigated for some agent or related party thing or other. I always felt it was Wolves with their Portuguese connections ..... Maybe I am mis-remembering.

Whatever it is, it seems to be buggering them up big time ......

I love it down there, amazing countryside , especially down Jenny Walkers lane then down towards Bridgenorth.
That's where I live, Bridgnorth

We're not in FFP trouble at all, Lopetegui's engineering of a move away with his public moaning in interviews with Balague has created a bit of a false narrative around us that we are struggling with FFP and in financial peril but its not the case. The owners (Fosun) have made a decision to rein in spending for now and get some money back and want to run at a profit this summer. We spent a fortune in January at Lop's behest, money we weren't budgeting to spend in January which has affected our summer spend

BREAKING: Referee Simon Hooper, VAR Michael Salisbury and AVAR Richard West all DROPPED for this weekend's Premier League appointments after collective failure to award Wolves a penalty at Old Trafford last night. Move is part of PGMOL chief Howard Webb's demand for greater accountability.
