Woman leaves her baby to die while she goes shopping

'Justice' by which you mean sentencing here, is not important in this case. What does it achieve here to jail this twat for more than what she got. Shes going to jail, and she probably doesnt give a fuck for how long. What is important here is for meaningful accountable questions and a review into what social services decisions were made here, and upon what basis. Protecting other children and helping families is the critical consideration here. Justice system worked, she has been arrested, an investigation found enough evidence for her to be charged and she was found guilty. Key now is learning, and reviewing what professionals did

It’s important to Baby Dylan.

She’ll be out in a year and giving birth a year later.

I agree with you that social services failed.

But two years for abusing and killing your kid is sickening. Yet another example of a waste of space dreg of society not getting what they deserve.

She shouldn't be jailed that's an easy way out for her.

She should be tortured every day, Small slice of a Stanley Knife everyday until she is eventually killed.

There is no way she will be able to keep another child now, none. It would be taken from her at birth by social services
At least that would be a lesson learned by social services. However the inquiry probably won't have happened by then and they won't have learned from other incidents as they rarely do. - At least that's how it looks from the outside, I've no doubt child protection is quite a complex area of social services.

It says she was very worried about a custodial sentence. So she obviously does care for how long.
I think one year in prison and one year suspended is nowhere near enough for a babies life, robbed of maybe 80 years and left to die in agony.
I hope someone cracks her skull in prison so she may know how it feels.

At the risk of going all Albert Pierrepoint; it surely depends upon how she is suspended for the last part of her sentence that determines whether it's a severe enough punishment.

So if a mass murderer kills 1000 people, if they go to jail for 1 day after being found guilty, it’s fine as long we learn from it?

This woman probably can’t believe her luck and it’s hardly a deterrent for her or any other idiot of the same ilk.

Unfortunately the people responsible for monitoring this woman after release will be social services. The very organisation it appears that should have stepped in before this tragedy to happened in the first place. I'd love to give them the benefit of the doubt that this was an isolated case but history says not
