Women's team - 2018/2019 Season

I remember at the start of the season no pundit seemed to be taking the ladies seriously. Chelsea this, Emma Hayes this, Arsenal that, blah blah... So good on the team for being so good.

Credit to Cushing. Since the end of last year I've been accusing him of stalling and as of recent it's like he's had a much needed kick up the backside. Maybe it was all the long game but the players all seem to be developing really nicely too when I get the chance to watch them. Long may it continue.

By Christ that second half was freezin' and not a goal to warm the chilly bits. Helped a bit that we got the pen in nigh the first couple of minutes. Would it have been given had it been Raheem? Brighton didn't have much. We were the usual ponderous in possession, and I'm convinced there is a women's club rule that everyone in the back four has to have a touch of the ball before it makes its way over the half way line! Nikki Parris could have had a hat trick. A couple of times she's through on goal and flunks it! But a win's a win. Three points and it'll all revolve around the last game of the season!

Does that mean you had some bits that weren't chilly? I thought the same about the pen. 100% a pen but Raheem would not have got it! Not easy conditions with that strong wind but we made it look harder than it was.

If the fur hat covers my ears I have difficulty hearing people next to me, so it's cold ears. That wind was whistling in from the Russain steppes, across Asda car park. We need the East Stand blocking off at the end, but as they haven't fixed that big telly in the corner yet I expect money is a bit tight at the moment!

Always said, it looks a nice stadium and would be great in some warm climate like southern Spain , but totally out of place in a cold drizzly Manchester.

We need to get the women's game back in the Summer. Much better atmosphere, sunny, warm, Sunday afternoons where the whole family could go. We had 1200+ crowd last night but the previous game, on a Wednesday, only attracted 700+.

Trouble with playing in the summer is it's out of sync with the rest of football, not only the men's game but the rest of the women's game too.
