We are sorely in need of a striker who does nothing but turn the ball in when given the chance. We are gonna struggle unless we can get someone in the middle who can capitalize on the chances the team create. Scott, Parris, Walsh and Houghton were all on the bench today. We had two wingers, Lawley and Emslie who had the beating of their fullbacks all match long but when the ball gets into the area there's a puff of nothing and the ball is cleared. We scored the first on 50 odd mins when the Leicester side had clearly run out of luck and the bounce of the ball in the area fell our way, and three more goals followed but it should have been double figures. I suspect CFC would have buried this Leicester side today with an avalanche. Anyway, three pointer. I've watched a lot of MCWFC games and the opposition today had the least to offer of any team turning up at The Academy.
Basically sums it up for me. Leicester were 100% useless and at half time it was nil nil!! I wasn't sure how ro describe our performance but all I could think of was incompetent. Whilst the wingers did have the beating of their full backs the final ball was more in hope than picking out a player. Despite that though we had chances and some golden ones.
Nadia I think had 4 heading chances and should have buried at least 2. One hit the keeper , one went nowhere and one glanced off her head for Janine to score. Jess Park missed to basic sitters but I will forgive her as a young newbie. I have to say I am still baffled by the Nadia situation. Can't see why she is still with us after what she said (she did say it didn't she?) or perhaps more because she is rubbish. She does try but against any sort of decent opposition she has been dire and a passenger.
The bit about passing backwards can be a bit of a worry as it often seems like they just don't see a forward pass even if it's there staring them in the face. Too many players lack the awareness needed. I do think Nick Cushing has his work cut out.

I really don't know. She was on the bench for what seemed a good number of matches towards the end of the season when I thought we needed her expertise in the midfield, but when a team like Lyon come calling you don't need to be asked twice. i thought she was being sidelined at the back end of the season. Whether that was because Lyon HAD called or not, I dunno!
