Something elese that bugged me about yesterday's team from the footballing genius that is Gareth Taylor was the defensive selection. Playing a centre half at right back and playing Stanway at left back while having Greenwood who is a left back in the centre. Surely it would have made more sense with Georgia at right back (where she's been playing most of the season), Mace & Kennedy & Greenwood in their more natural positions?
Or playing her in the position that she got 6 assists playing for England. Bloody left-back, the man is an idiot.

Notts Forest in the next round of the Cup. Hopefully, we can kick on a bit now.

We won’t really kick on until Taylor goes… he’s not the man to take the team forward but the club are being weak and indecisive. Should bring someone in now - and let them prepare for next season. We are miles behind Arsenal and Chelsea and we need a strategy to close that gap, the first step in that strategy is a coach whom the players believe in and visa versa.

I don’t rate the coach but our problems are wider than Taylor, inc:
- poor signings
- players value playing for their country much more than City (maybe that’s the case across the women’s games).
- lack of support beyond the core fan base (who are great Blues).

I agree re the squad which is why we need someone in now who can make some big decisions in the summer re comings and goings.

As for player commitment anyone will tell you Taylor lost this group of players months ago - he isn’t getting the best out of them and that isn’t going to change.

I agree nmc. I also think we had a better and more consistent style of play when we had more players on the fringe of the England Team who weren’t likely to come back worn out or injured from international breaks.

Maybe we were victims of our own success for a while and it was great to Kelly and Hemp etc become internationals. However in going for the bigger names we’ve had to sacrifice consistency of selection and quality of play.

Just watched the ‘highlights’ on BBC iPlayer. Weir was anonymous, Kennedy was poor…again, Mace had her worst game so far for City, keeper inspires no confidence at all. That Hi-Vis kit reminds you she’s High Piss.
Did you spot what happened to Bunny Shaw after the pass to Ellen White? Absolutely
It's difficult to make those judgements from a highlights show, players that look 'anonymous' or 'poor' may have been doing the sort of good work that don't make the edit.

I had watched the entire match live on the FA Player. The highlights simply confirmed my initial impressions.
