Getting back on topic, good performance, great result today.

Lovely goal from Caroline Weir, 16 shots, 6 on target, 4 scored, it's an improvement.

We play them at home again on Wednesday in the WSL they must be delighted.

Draw for the semi finals is tomorrow, I bet we don't get West Ham ;-) but happt to be proved wrong of course.

Now were are back to better times we can 'do' West Ham. That was another game where nothing went right and two things went wrong.

Reminds me of a catch Jack Bond did for Lancashire. So long ago I think it's only in black and white.

I think it was 1971 Gillette Cup Semi Final played at the real Old Trafford. Closing stages were shown on TV, it was that dark you could hardly see the players, never mind the ball. TV cameras have improved a tad since then.

I believe Jack Bonds catch was against Kent at Lords in the Gillette final. Lancs won and he caught Kent's star batsman Asif.

You are correct Bond's catch was in the final in 1971. The late finish, circa 9 o'clock at night was the semi against Gloucestershire, and also included Bond batting with David Hughes. The 2 games are easily mixed up after 50 years.
