Women's Team - 2021/22

Thoughts on the season:
Disastrous start with 8+ injuries to key players including that little spursy **** Neville breaking Esmes leg in a game we were fucking robbed of by appalling refereeing.
Losses to West Ham and Spurs in games we would normally win easily, with heavy loss to Arsenal and Chelsea meant we were out of the running before the season got going. Having to play a 3rd choice keeper who was fucking hopeless and gifted teams several goals didn't help.
Once players started to return we saw the real City. A narrow defeat against Chelsea we deserved more from and Arsenal scraping a draw they didn't deserve in the dying moments ensured we were chasing CL qualification against the ragettes. We thoroughly put them in there place twice in a week to become favourites in that race. A great performance in the League Cup final to win a pot gave us confidence.
With nearly everyone back we looked pretty unstoppable against the also rans in this league and I reckon with a relatively full squad we could have won this league.
We've made the FA Cup final against Chelsea and its a game we can win if we play to our best and we are in fantastic form.
Looking forward I'm desperate we keep Caroline Weir and should pull out all stops to keep her unless we can replace her with same quality. Should be in the mix next year for everything and Taylors earnt his shot.

I fear we'll struggle to replace Weir. If we can keep her though, and can keep the rest of the squad together, then I feel we can make a real attempt at the league and CL next season

What a shame the Cup Final clashes with the game at West Ham. Had been looking forward to the women’s game against Chelsea after the Continental Cup final, outstanding game.

Ellie Roebuck mentioned this the other day, something the authorities really need to sort out. Lots of us would want to watch both games.

I am permitted by the family to go to Women's team matches at Wembley but not mens, as I have never been at a match they have managed to win there. Happy to take the Cityitis blame on my shoulders for that one.

I am waiting for the BBC to announce a week of national mourning given that their beloved swampettes have failed to qualify for Europe. They must be devastated. Please, please can City and Caroline Weir sort out a new contract.

This is the second season in a row where we've been undone by a slow start to things (albeit with injuries this time). Hopefully next season we can just be ourselves for the entire time.
