if that was on a radio broadcst, listeners would think it was a close game, and City lucky to steal a win. "City know they've had a real struggle here", being a typical comment. In truth, the last half hour saw Spurs absolutely gassed. Rarely reached the City penalty area, but this isn't slagging Spurs, just the commentary. Pitifully amateurish, at best....

Played well in the second half, and deserved to win by more than we did. I thought Ellen White was disappointing, and Raso a few times should have passed/crossed. I thought we defended pretty well throughout (unlike the "brilliant" defending by spurs. Attacking wise not great in the first half, but did Ellie make a save all game (not counting the assault on her as a save), she punched a couple of crosses away, and they didn't get close to out other keeper. I wasn't sure about Kennedy when she started, but I thought she was good today.

Poor (erm ?) officiating, 7 1/2 minutes added for some reason, nothing extra needed adding to the 6 that I could see, numerous fouls not given to us.

Even worse commentary, the bias is staggering, the only thing missing was an "oh no" when we scored, made me laugh when Weir's free kick hit the post with a very loud thud, and the idiot initially claimed "great save" only to quickly realise she wasn't near it, but how do you mistake that thud against the post for a save ?

Yes, exactly. At times today if I was unable to see I would have thought Tottenham were Brazil 1970 according to the commentary.
There must have been about 10 references to City wanting revenge for losing at home to this lot, yet no mention whatsoever of the most blatant handball goal since Boly pinched it in against us.

Even thought she was gonna award the PotM to a Spurs player at one point.

Shocking pitch, even worse officiating but still we win. Well done ladies. Picked it up well in the 2nd half and thoroughly deserved the win in the end. Contrary to the commentary opinion there was only one team that was going to win that game after we finally turned up. Didn't know Blackstad could play full back but definitely had an impact when she came on. White totally ineffective again and surely it's Bunny time for a few games now.
Even allowing for blue tinted specs the ref was unbelievable ,ignored a blatant booking early on for a pull back, Ellie got booked when she was semi concussed, I thought the Spurs woman was wild going in like that, mysterious time added over 6 mins. Very blatantly biased I thought.

The women have got short shorts. Why are they different from the mens?
According to one of the players (replying to a comment on Twitter) Puma gave them a choice when they took over from Nike and Steph and her co-captains put it to the squad for a vote. They chose short over long shorts.

I guess Sep Blatter wasn’t being sexist after all then when he suggested skimpier shorts for women!
I don’t think the women have done themselves any favours in making this choice based on the aforementioned reaction to Sep Blatter’s comments.

Mate you must be one of the younger fans if you think those are truly short shorts. Men's teams in the 70's and 80's wore shorter. You'll also find that when Blatter suggested short shorts, he meant cheeks-hanging-out short, as opposed to an inch or two shorter than the men's which is what the women are currently wearing.
