Women's Team Thread - 2022/23

Couple of bits of news involving Laura Coombs today. Firstly, she's signed a 2 year contract extension to see her through to June 2025. And secondly, she'sl also been selected for the England squad (with 5 of her City team-mates) for the upcoming games in the Arnold Clark Cup tournament. Well deserved on both counts and congrats go to her.

The other 5 players selected in the England squad are: Roebuck, McIver, Greenwood, Hemp & Kelly. Jess Park also makes the squad again but no room for Esme Morgan who misses out this time.

Congrats to Laura Coombs. I’ve not been her biggest fan since she came here but she’s definitely been one of our better performers this season.
 
Well played today ladies. Hopefully keep up this great form and believe you can also beat Chelsea, Man Yoo, Arsenal again and take the title. What a great player Chloe Kelly is. Full of energy, direct and goes for goal. She has taken over the mantel from Jill Scott.

Playing devils advocate here a little, but do you think theres no chance we'll win the league? We're on a great run of form and if (a big if) we win the league, it'd probably be a bit weird to get rid of him.

Im not saying sack him but I wouldn’t renew his contract. I think we can get a far better coach. If we settle for Taylor it’s another indication that the club aren’t really interested in the women’s set up.

Not sure if the club and Taylor would go for this, but why not wait until the season ends? If we end up winning the league, he'll deserve a contract. If we finish 4th, he doesn't. 2nd or 3rd and it's thinking hats and discussion time.

Maybe that’s what we are doing - slowing things down until we know how things finish this season.
