Women's Team Thread 2024/2025

Is it the same knee issue lots of other players in the women’s game have been susceptible to, that requires a long absence, or is it something else?
England head coach Sarina Wiegman confirmed Hemp’s injury was not to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), adding: “She had surgery. I think she’s alright. It takes a while before she gets back, but I’m not worried for the long-term) or future.”

Cheers for that. Just relieved it’s not ACL.

Perhaps Kelly might get a run in the circumstances and improve her form.

Obviously we don’t know the timescale involved with Hemp’s recovery, but I’d love us to be proactive in recruiting another top class wide forward. At worst, they would rotate with Fujino when Hemp is back.

Can't see it tbh. Still seems behind Maz and Fujino.

If Weigman is right and Hemp doesn't have an ACL then we ought to be able manage til after the winter break when we play United away on 19th Jan. We only have league games against Everton and Leicester before then.

Might cost us top spot in our CL group though as we play Barca away on 22nd Dec most likely needing a point to secure top spot.

So long as she isn't out longer than 2 months ths it shouldn't hurt us too much.

Feel like we have cover on the right but the left side is a bit of a mess. Still have no idea where Tara O'Hanlon is but as an attack minded full back it would be good to see what she can offer in way of cover!

A player that could play both sides would be perfect. Preferably a more direct player too.

I fancy that GT will have another scenario to this one. I don't know what it might be, and I think he won't know yet, but he'll no doubt conjure summat up to keep Chloe on the bench!

His time really needs to be brought to a swift end and replaced with a manager who actually knows what they are doing.
