Even if we was the equivalent of Spain we would still not be happy - this would be the average Joe on the Internet -

It's easy to critize. Reality is England are a very good team, when it comes to major competitions it's pretty much a level playing field bar the odd exception at the time, but even the very best teams can get knocked out as is shown in every cup competition in the history of football - not saying we should never question and demand better - but we also need to keep a perspective that there isn't always a fundamental reason why a team loses. It's football and the reality is anyone can beat anyone on the day.
Great stuff from England. There will be so many young girls that will be inspired to get in to the game because of these achievements.
That's exactly it. I remember when the US won the first one. The excitement and then explosion of women's football was something else.

Agree with you both. This could be the beginning of a boom in the game in this country. The women have done fantastically well and I wish them well against Japan .

Yes and congratulations to you for making the semifinals! Hopefully we can have a US v England final! Beating Japan won't be easy, but it can be done. They're not great scorers. There's no shame playing Japan on the counter and I think you have a great chance if your defense is organized.Great stuff from England. Did you watch Argentina last World Cup - they scraped there way to the final and were not impressive at all - the same criticism being labelled at England 'winging there way through'
Spain lost 5-1 to Holland and didn't even get out the group
Germany were excellent.
Since then England have a 100% record in the Euro group and have played very well and our ladies have just made further history getting to the Semi Final. But after this you jump on here criticising and moaning about England. I totally disagree with your opening line - For whatever reason a lot of English people like to see England fail.
Forget the mens game. People complaining about us not being able to string passes together, i haven't seen a team here that is that coherent.
