So just watched a clip of the man talking to the camera disturbingly calm of murdering someone but the thing that strikes me is that he is a Londoner and is saying "women in our country have to see this everyday," "remove your government"
The guy is British but speaks like he isn't.

He also said "bring our troops home"

He's a lunatic, who has been brainwashed into a way of thinking that is millions of miles from what he knows.

I once witnessed the well known group of anti England Muslim demonstrators protesting a 9/11 memorial day. To me, a large amount of them looked like social outcasts. As though they have been very insecure throughout their life and have latched onto a cause. Extremism preys on the week and feeble minded.

There was a documentary on TV a while back about extremists and white british muslim converts etc. Every single one of them was clearly an outcast, no friends, bullied in school etc who just wanted to belong to something

Funnily enough that was exactly what I was thinking when I posted the above. If you google protests us embassy 9//11 and look at the pictures, one face will immediately attract your eye.

fair enough pal on that first bit, that's another debate completely.

i'm not 100% on the madrid bombing anyway but i do know ETA have hit madrid before, as well as other places.

personally i think we should get the hell out of the middle east and concentrate on protecting ourselves.

Agree completely, our defence should be defence not an invasion force.

the trouble is, because we need to defend ourselves we feel that we need to crawl up the U.S's arse so that if the world goes really really tits up then we can hide behind them.

I was always told the best for of defence is to attack :P

So.. In the aftermath of yesterday a few mosques were broken into, and no doubt some tit for tat unreported retaliations will have occurred.

My question is where does the nations social conscience lie? In this day of unprecedented access to anything you want, who's responsibility is it to unstoke the fire?

For the life of me I can't work out what the answer is, and I challenge anyone to come up with an answer. To me, things are going to have to come to a head before it gets any better.

This would be because as a Muslim all Muslims around the world are considered your brothers and sisters. So when he is speaking of "women of my country" he is talking about Muslim women.

But the Quran also teaches

"And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the
favor of Allah upon you – when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by his favor, brothers
" [3]

But it also teaches.

"o We decreed for the tribe of Israel that if someone kills another person - unless it is in retaliation for someone else or for causing corruption in the earth - it is as if he had murdered all mankind. And if anyone gives life to another person, it is as if he had given life to all mankind. Our Messengers came to them with Clear Signs but even after that many of them committed outrages in the earth." (Qur'an 5: 32)

So these guys actions had nothing to do with religion even if that is what they wished.

pull out of the middle east, concentrate our military on defending our own citizens.

Yes but "your government" and "our troops" also show that he really has no clue about what he is going on about

That simply won't work. Regardless of our foreign policy, the damage has been done.

I'm more concerned with who has the guts to come out and really make a difference in this time of negativity. I think the media now have an OBLIGATION to educate and guide instead of sensationalise and divide.

By your government he is talking about the combined forces that are in Muslim nations. See the biggest gripe Muslims have is the stationing of troops near Mecca which is sacrilegious to them. This is not allowed by their teachers hence why he was speaking in those terms. As a Muslim his beliefs teach him to fight for the defense of the holy land. But what they did is not allowed as it was not on the battle field. You have to understand there are British and American troops in almost every Muslim country. This is not allowed but unfortunately most Muslim countries have oil.

to be fair you could be describing most of the police force there.
To be fair you could be describing most of United's supporters there!
