Black jacks four for a penny - farthing each. There was the odd shop in North Manchester who would still take farthings - late fifties.
I'm often using the word shilling. Trailing round a supermarket I often remark to Mrs Ewing, "Hey, look at that - they want fourteen shillings for that!'
